What is a Digital Detox?

Hey dear Hiveans, at the beginning I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope you have a pleasant week! In my new article I want to address an important topic of modern times and would be happy if you could expand your knowledge.

Worldwide there are over five billion Internet users and people spend hours in the digital world and how long people are online of course always depends on the country and on average it are over six hours that are people online every day. Digital media are on everyone's lips and among the most common activities include visiting social networks, video games or consuming entertainment media such as music, podcast or videos and it can be seen that most of all Internet users belong to the young generation and for many it's the daily companion without which some can no longer and especially young people use media as a kind of retreat in which their own worlds are formed. Especially when people are in the phase of development, the Internet has a huge influencing factor and it can be said that in many cases the education is influenced by the media and the personality of young people is divided by digital content and a large part of all young people also already had experiences with frightening content which results in behaviour changing and young people being blunted. Young people often become more aggressive or tend to be more unfocused and how exactly behaviour changes always depends on the content as well as the type or duration of use, but it can be said in any case that the Internet has an enormous influence on young people and development. In addition to the high risk of addiction, there are many other factors why the Internet can become a problem for many and these include attacks on privacy, cyberbullying, fraud or other attacks that often penetrate strongly into real life and can burden people across platforms, so to speak, only that in this case the second platform is the person and the health itself.

It must always be mentioned that technology is never the direct problem, but how it's used and through abuse it also comes to completely different hurdles with which people have to deal with and it's not easy to recognise this and digital forms of influence are in any case not too negligible and since very few recognise it, it's particularly difficult to get rid of it. There is now such a high dependence on the Internet that some tasks that are needed for daily life no longer work without it and especially with older people, it can be observed that they have problems with things where the Internet is needed and without the right experience in this area, these group of people are severely restricted. Digitisation brings so many advantages, but the negatives are often ignored and as the name says, people are often trapped in a net in which it is not easy to break free or pay attention to the correct use and it's important to start a digital detox from time to time where it's about separating contact with all devices that have access to the Internet and getting more involved with reality again. How long such a detox lasts always depends entirely on the person and some try to completely distance from certain media while others set out to do without a smartphone or computer for a few hours or days. Typical symptoms caused by excessive consumption of the media include general restlessness, sleep disorders, aggressive behaviour or psychological stress which in turn can affect the entire body's organism.

The goal of such a detox is to minimise these dangers or to fight against the symptoms, but there are also often hurdles here and when a person begins to detach himself from the digital world, he is often strongly cut off and there it comes to social exclusion and especially among professionals who are dependent on the Internet, this can even go hand in hand with existential fears. Pretty much all information is transmitted over the Internet and if people take a break from it, there are fears of being cut off from the world, but if people start this path, this can quickly restore the quality of life and relieve stress. There are many tools that can help and often have technology manufacturers also a built-in warning which is activated when people spend too much time on the Internet, but you have to be realistic because this often helps little and each person finds his own form of digital detox, but it's important to stick to it and take a break from time to time. Especially due to the increasing digitisation, it's particularly important to take breaks and think about the risks of online consumption and it's very important in this respect to give a food for thought and at the beginning of a detox it is very important as a first step to think about yourself, the behaviour and the online activities and best achieve this with reflection with oneself.

I am always excited to read about your post every single time because I am so sure that I will get to learn something new in it

It means a lot to me to hear this :)

The rate of online consumption is now 90%. So many fake shits online but people still choose to believe
It’s crazy…

That’s right! With the billions of information, it’s hard to filter out the right ones.

I think internet should be restricted until a certain age is reached, we see new generations literally dumbing to copy stupid challenges, bullying and so on they see on there

This is a respectable view, but here the question arises for me whether restrictions do not lead to new problems. It is a complex topic and good that you think about it, bullying is a good and also serious example that you address, there must definitely be more education about the correct use of the Internet and it must be taken into account that especially young people are even more vulnerable.

While there are many advantages to using the internet, there are also many disadvantages. Most of the younger generation spends a lot of time on the internet unnecessarily. They need to be guided in the right direction and their mobile usage needs to be limited. Your photography awesome

You have expressed this well, especially younger people are often highly endangered by the Internet, more than some want to admit, and there is often little room for criticism from outside.
