Recently, Shane Brewer, the owner and founder of MDCM, displayed how he has grown the number of adpacks in his account in MDCM from an initial starting point via repurchasing. Although I think most people understood the significance in Shane showing his account, that the significance was that Shane is just like one us regular members in that he makes his money from MDCM the same as any of us do.
But what I don't think most people understood is the level of integrity his account actually reflects about both Shane and his approach to running his business of MDCM.
To understand the level of integrity reflected in Shane's account, we must understand the distinction between how Shane started MDCM and how most other owners would have started their own rev share: Shane indicated that he started MDCM with $1000. Well, first of all, that amount does not speak to the amount of time and effort and forethought Shane put into developing MDCM, it only speaks to his initial financial buy into his own business model after the business was up and running.
What's significant about that start isn't the amount, but the approach to starting and thereby making money from MDCM: As the developer of MDCM Shane could have simply rewarded himself with an initial number of adpacks to start with in his own MDCM account without ever paying for the adpacks out of pocket directly. And had he taken this approach no one could have said anything wrong about it because Shane could have simply justified the action of starting his account with a preset number of adpacks as his compensation for starting the business.
But that's not what Shane did. To be clear, what Shane did was develop a rev share that leverages its network across existing online advertising modalities and in doing so Shane decided to participate in the business from the same perspective in which members would be required to do so. This action meant that Shane was more concerned about growing his business the right way as opposed to establishing his business with an in-house mechanism that essentially represented a back door cipher on revenue brought into the business.
Think about the implications of his actions: Shane could have secured his time, money and energy investment into developing MDCM simply by padding his account with pre-existing sharing positions, then simply withdrew or even repurchased on money accruing in his account balance from nothing.
And no one could have questioned the action of his doing so because all businesses do the same thing of padding their accounts before any launch within a IC0-type, or IPO-type business model in which the revenue is slated to be shared with others. And to be clear, MDCM is nothing more than a global participation with a common enterprise. Therefore, when such a business forms, the owners of the business always establish their own accounts with a number of shares that represent their ownership stake in the business.
But Shane, in developing MDCM, deferred on that approach to earning from MDCM. Instead of padding his account with a number of pre-existing adpacks, Shane bought a number of adpacks directly out of pocket as he would later ask each member to do so if they wished to benefit directly from the MDCM's gained revenue. Thus, Shane went beyond simply developing MDCM, he also was the first to buy into MDCM for the purpose of earning from it.
To be clear, Shane's approach of not padding his account with a large number of preexisting adpacks and his instead making MDCM a 100% revenue sharing business model is an indication of Shane's integrity and what we the members can expect from his approach to running MDCM going forward.
The one thing we all need to keep in mind here is that in life we look for signs that reveal the truth where truth isn't readily discernible. Do we know Shane personally? How do we know that Shane isn't some diabolical agent sent to dastardly deeds on the populous? What signs do we have to indicate the truth about Shane?
Well, to know the makeup of Shane's character we need to look for clues through Shane's actions in consistency. His initial action was to develop a 100% revenue sharing business model that leverages the network across advertising modalities (nearly all other forms of advertising is a result of others leveraging blank spaces across a captive audience of a network, therefore Shane developed MDCM to be counter-intuitive to tradition forms of advertising business models).
The truth in this case is that Shane's approach to his own account in MDCM is an indication of his savviness in running a business. Think about it: If Shane really believed that MDCM had the makeup to become successful, then what would it have said about him if he had not been willing to engage the business the same as we would be required to do so?
To be fair, its the inverse of that question which is the one that should be answered in order to know for sure if whether you are indeed in the right place or not with MDCM: What does it say about the future of MDCM when the owner started his business in the exact same manner as everyone else would be required to do so and the owner continues to do so?
Shane's decision to buy adpacks in MDCM as opposed to padding his account with adpacks, or even his approach to make MDCM a 100% revenue sharing business model meant that Shane believed in his business model, and it meant that Shane had determined that he would be very proactive in running his business.
I mean, think about it: What does it really say about the owner of a business who not only took the time to develop it, but also positioned himself in the business to be directly amongst the people of the business as opposed to creating a hierarchy for himself within his own business?
It means that Shane had decided that MDCM would be by the people, for the people- and that he would be one of the people by which MDCM was by, and he would be one of the people for whom MDCM was for.
Think about it.
I believe in the fundamental goodness of Human nature and although I do not know Shane personally, his actions as you describe them are the epitome of this.
Shane showing that he is also a member showed me his integrity and as the owner provided me clear cut that he understand the revshare model. i am a big Fan of MDCM and i will for sure help it become a multy million dollar company. This is by far one of the best run programs if not the best one on the net.
Shane is a man with integrity. He knows how to run a business... And the fact that he run, maintain and invest in his own program is a sign of good integrity and the believe of the program. Big thumbs up Shane... So happy and honoured being part of this program. The BEST of the BEST....
Hi, I do believe in Mr.Shane's nature and integrity, though I do not know him personally . I could able to ascertain it from his support to MDCM customers in all possible way, he can.
But, I am more concern about the longevity of MDCM. In my experience almost all the businesses, (except one which is in US legal tangle due to jealousy may be) have disappeared within two to three years? How about MDCM? Will it last long? How its sustainability programmed in terms of profit sharing to its customers, when the customer base increases?
