Is Planet Steem an actual platform, or a cool name for our little rockin' community?
I work in IT and in about 6 months my project will be over... due to visas, locations and other complications, I'm really not sure what my future will hold in June 2018, so I'm pushing hard to make Planet Steem my full time job so that in 6 months it can be my actual job and I can earn a monthly wage from it. I don't need much to live, but with the sort of work I do, there are no part-time jobs, it's all or nothing... and the all requires a heap of travel and all my time.
We'll see how it goes, but your advice here is exactly the direction I want to go... and I want to escape the matrix.... the story of which will be documented right here on the platform that allowed it.
this line of thinking is flawed:
This is not what my post is about. It's about finding your superpower and utlilizing it for the benefit of others. IF you try to turn Planet Steem into a "wage" idea, this won't end well.
Planet Steem is the shared blockchain that all the different sites use (Steemit, Busy, Dmania, Dtube, Dsound, Zappl). Steemit is only one website that uses the Steem blockchain. Planet Steem encompasses all these sites, and all these communities, global ones.....
I see Planet Steem growing with only more sub communities. Wait until gamers adopt Dlive. The good news, niche interests now have a chance and we see rise of the indie!
Thanks for the excellent post.
When I use the word, "Community", I am referring to the clearly laid out sub tribes in Planet Steem. For example, Utopian is one, Minnow Support Project is another, Slothicorn is another. There are Korean art communities, and ones in Nigeria........Each distinct community has its own code of ethics, social rules, etc. Business Intelligence community is yet another...
If you are trying to find a wage in Steemit, I would suggest you ask the whales what they need done in Planet Steem. That is something that very few people even do, and no one has yet asked me what I need help with. This is one of the most shocking things actually.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I understood the different between Steemit the platform and the Steem blockchain that has a number of other interfaces... I didn't know that the landscape was called Planet Steem, that's a super cool name.
I am personally trying to build the Ninja Warrior/OCR community on Steemit. The community is huge on other platforms (Instagram primarily, but also Facebook) but Steem is perfect for actually going into depth about training techniques, competition results, etc. This is the community I'm very excited about and one that I think could adopt this platform in a big way. The TV shows often are the highest rating shows in that country.
I don't quite understand why trying to draw a wage from Steem is the wrong approach though, I understand that the more Steem I hold the better for my community... but if I can spend 40 hours a week on it and not work a 'proper' job wouldn't that be best?
I'd love to help the whales out... I just don't really know how to go about asking... Whales seem to get a trillion comments and I honestly wasn't sure those comments were read (again, thank you so much for replying so thoughtfully).
I would love nothing more to find someone that would need my help...
