RE: Why it's Not the Boys in the Above Picture Who Grow Up to be School Shooters

in #masculinity6 years ago

giving boys the freedom to be themselves is not weakness. being feminine is not a weakness. the boys who have shot up schools have done so out of illness - insanity - and a lack of appropriate gun control. just because the boys in the bottom picture make you uncomfortable doesn't mean they aren't happy, well socialized, positive members of society.

Sort:

It’s not about being uncomfortable. They don’t make me uncomfortable. And if it were up to me, society wouldn’t treat people like that like garbage.

But this, in the heterosexual world, comes down to finding a mate.

And feminine men have a significantly lower chance of arousing sexual attention in females than the alpha males.

You can disagree all you want, but this is biology.

Just because it makes you uncomfortable, doesn’t mean it’s not true.

Perhaps I'm wrong in understanding your post; I don't know how you did it but you got me sick. :( However, what I read is your declaration that boys who express and embrace their more 'feminine' side are sexually frustrated and therefore more likely to go on shooting sprees.

My point is that anyone who goes on a shooting spree is mentally ill and has access to guns; everything else is hyperbole.

And for the record, you do make me uncomfortable but in that tingly excited way. ;)

...are sexually frustrated and therefore more likely to go on shooting sprees.

I'm not sure if it makes them "more likely," but there is a pretty high correlation of that in mass killings. I'm not sure if it's the most prevalent cause, but it seems to be a popular contributing factor and part of the whole "outsider" or "marginalized" persona of many of these shooters.

...and a lack of appropriate gun control.
...and has access to guns

This is ancillary to the problem. As stated in my original comment above, mass murders are committed with a wide variety of tools, some of them not necessarily tangible. When mentally ill people have a desire to kill, they will find a way to do so, whether with a cargo truck, a knife, homemade bombs, a gun, or a shitty economic system that they force on a society.

We may disagree about the availability of certain tools, but I try to leave failed prohibition laws and policies at the door. Unless, of course, you are the target of the prohibition. :)

#banbeth

I never said ban guns, i said they - the mentally ill - have too much access to them.

Don't ban me. Who else would you make fun of?

So you want to ban mentally ill people? You’re a monster!
