Intro
Hey everyone! I am a huge fan of the MCU and 2018 is going to be a great year in terms of all of the movies that will be released!
For me, Black Panther is going to be released Friday, February 16th, 2018, and you bet I will be there on the day of release to watch it! But let's be honest... It'll probably be another one of those movies I end up rewatching multiple times!
Before we discuss **Black Panther** any further, I think mentioning a few things concerning Avengers: Infinity War is necessary!
Infinity War
I know, I know, after what Hela did to Thor's hammer leaves fans speculating about what will replace it in the next Avengers (coming out April 25th, 2018), but all the most common speculations aside, let's look at the trailer: the first few scenes fans are greeted with are those of the mighty Thanos and his gauntlet which can carry all 6 infinity stones (for those who don't know, are individual stones with infinite power, hence its name); however, in the entire Marvel cinematic universe, only 5 of the stones have been seen:
- Tesseract -- Loki
- Mind Stone -- Vision
- Aether -- Collector's Museum
- Power Stone -- Nova Corps Vault
- Eye of Agamotto -- Doctor Strange's neck
- Soul Stone -- ???
Assuming, knowing that Infinity War is a heist movie of Thanos collecting infinity stones, that there's a good chance that the sixth infinity stone might be present in the movie as well! However, since the stone's whereabouts have never been revealed and that Black Panther is the last movie before Infinity War, one can argue that the sixth stone is in possession of the Wakandans (people from the secret city of Wakanda). Therefore, this allows Marvel to setup the sixth stone in Black Panther leading up to the Avengers film in April.
(note: there is a good chance that the sixth stone may not be present in Infinity War and left for another film in the upcoming years, so take these speculations with a grain of salt)
Black Panther
Ok! On to Black Panther! Last we've seen of him (T'Challa) was in Captain America: Civil War, which also included the revelation of the new SpiderMan. Noting that the city of Wakanda has been an isolated and advanced society, further suggests that the presence of an infinity stone among them is a possibility.
In addition, in the trailer, fans are presented a "spiritual" sort of scene composing of black Panthers (animals) with glowing eyes sitting in trees, which can also be more subtle hints of their possession of the sixth stone: the Soul Stone.
Anyways, as I've mentioned before, this is all speculation and can be right or wrong or both. These are my ideas based on research!
