In marketing it is a technique that consists of connecting with your users with the message that you are transmitting, either in a loud voice, in writing, or through a story with your character and its plot.
When Apple introduced the iPod to the world for the first time, they didn't tell us how many megabytes it had, they told us a story of “1,000 songs in your pocket” and so it hooked us.
Steve Jobs knew how to differentiate Apple from its competitors because he was a master in storytelling. And with his leadership, the technology company became a world power.
But it is not necessary to have a budget of marketing like Apple, If you know how to tell your “unique” story in a shocking way, you will gain the respect and love of your customers, and your business will grow.
This ability to tell stories, as well as the art that is associated with it, is one of the oldest that exists: connect emotionally through a story, let them reach you and touch the heart and head, body and spirit: the rational and the instinctive.

¿There are different types of storytelling?
The different types of storytelling that may exist are based mainly on the nature of the story you want to tell, that is, everything will depend on: what kind of story are you going to support the message you want to convey?

Fiction
This type of storytelling is characterized in that we will tell a story in which the facts that are told are not real, but we rely on characters or situations created and invented, on many occasions, only to convey our message.
Historical
Surely you have in mind the classic brand with years of experience and reputation, or product or service, which bases its communications on a storytelling of this type. For this type of brands, it may be the best option, since reviewing your own story can raise different feelings among your audience (nostalgia, emotion, etc.).

Actual consumption situations
This is one of our favorite types, although it is not always possible that these stories reflect absolute reality about the situations of consumption of the product on which the message is based. The purpose of this type of storytelling is that we see ourselves reflected in the situations experienced by the protagonists of the story while consuming the product or service of the brand in question.
Based on brand values
The key to this type of storytelling is to make the protagonists of the story we tell to support the message embody the values of the brand themselves. The main objective of this type of storytelling will be for the consumer to relate the brand to the personality of the protagonists, being able to position themselves in a much more powerful way for those values.
Reflective Values to advertise the brand
The key to this type of storytelling is to make the protagonists of the story we tell to support the message find themselves in a situation, in which there is a before and after of the main character achieving this by touching the feeling of the viewer, so that the message is stored in the long term in the mind of those who managed to understand and with it the name of the brand is also saved along with the products or service it offers.
