I think comments like this are very much to the detriment of Steemit and it's hopefully something that the developers can find a way around - this can be copied and pasted onto literally anyone's post introducing themselves and is not really about welcoming the new user. Instead, it's about self-promotion and trying to gain followers - spam, really. We see this flooding many other sites that allow commenting, and it would be great to have Steemit find a way to minimise this kind of thing.
