Market Friday

in #marketfriday7 years ago (edited)

Good Morning, Steemians! Today is #MarketFriday initiated by @dswigle (That is me, Denise!)

Today, I went searching for a few harvest pumpkins and gourds, which are currently being picked by the local farmers. There are plenty to go around, but they are being picked little by little - most are still in the fields curing. By curing, of course, I mean they are still in the ripening stage. The pumpkin is harvested when the color is uniform and the rind is hard. The farmers watch the weather for the nighttime lows now, although here in our area, we have been still having summer weather. But, all it takes is one hard frost to kill the vine. Once the vine dies, the fruit will no longer mature. Yes, they are a little dirty from the field, but, I promise you, they will be clean and pretty when they are ready to be sold.

I have to be honest with you. I think these large orange and green gourds are my absolute favorite.

Gourd.jpg

Did you know that gourds are of different colors, shapes, and sizes? Farmers harvest them before frost- after the fruit is mature. As these gourds mature, the stems turn brown and dry up.

gourd 2.jpg

When I was a child, the appearance of winter squash epitomized autumn: squash, pumpkins, and gourds. Glorious winter squash! Acorn squash, butternut squash, hubbard squash, spaghetti squash, cheese pumpkin, delicata squash, kabocha squash.

pumpkin2.jpg

Pumpkins are king at this time of year. They come in an assortment of colors - blue, green, yellow, white multi-colored and red. I am sure that I may be missing some. They can be tiny, oblong, squat, round, shaped like a pear, tall, and some so big they take a small crane to move. There are some that are better for carving, many, better for eating and then some are just pretty and are better for display.

gourds 3.jpg

Admittedly, I love them for their seeds, so I pick a nice heavy one... On average, a medium-sized pumkin will usually have about 1 cup of seeds that can be salted then, dried and roasted. Yummy!!!

Thank you for tagging along as I check out the progress of the harvest. I'll go back in a week or so to pick out a few different pumpkins. Maybe carve one or two. I look forward to checking out your #MarketFriday shots. Remember to visit the other ones with that hashtag. Experience a shopping day, all around the globe. Happy shopping!

Bonjour, my Barbara! Wow! Yes!!

I have been uploved in a most wondrous way! I do so love the #MarketFriday and traveling the world over, perusing markets and cultures of places I may never see in real life. It is an enlightening experience for me and I hope, for many. We are making the world so much smaller this way, closer to each other.

Thank you for your loving support, always, always. You honored me? Now, I must go to the link. You are like a fairy godmother! Thank you! tip!

that's a lot'a squash!
would you please reply on the question I asked you ?
I wonder .. I really do
that is if you're still up and awake and if not
sleep tight!

Just logged back on and I am wondering which question you asked me? Sorry!

oh am sorry I hope I didn't bug you
it's on my reply on my post :)
thank you for logging back on :)

Oh! Not at all!! :) I answer the relies in order so, I had already answered it when I got here! :)

I see.. yes, I just saw it .. been busy around :)
thanks a lot again!

Great post Denise! I am really happy for you! :D
When I was a kid my mom had a big garden. My friend Gary and I would grow gourds then put shiny shellac on them and sell them door to door like when I was 7 lol. I was an early hustler lol

Thank you, Paul! Really surprised the heck out me.

Haha! Why do I have no trouble believing that you were a hustler at the tender age of seven? Sigh I hate to say it, but, you are a dying breed. Not that you are old, but, they just don't know how to spell hustle the right way anymore. :)

Do I dare tip you? Will it come back and bite me? I'll give it the old hustle! tip! @old-guy-photos

Oh I know you are goofing on my advanced age. That's why I did my video that I need to post. It's ok it happens to all of us lol. Thanks for the tip as always Denise. If I misspell it's coz I am doing this from my phone and I'm not really used to it lol. This eSteem app works pretty good though :)

I would never!!!! eyeroll Even if I thought you were old. I do have respect for my elders, after all. My mama taught me better than that!

I laughed at the tip as I wrote it down. It would be my dumb luck to bounce another tip on you, right?? Oh, the embarrassment! Who does that? So, I am glad that it went through.

Did you take my name in vain in the video? Now I really am going to have to look out for it!

Well thats good, your mama taught you right!

Yeah you dont want to be known as the chronic deadbeat tipper LOL!!!

Yes, Ma'am, I did. Ill post it up lol.

Ohhhh!! How vain? :)

Believe me, I almost didn't leave a tip because of that. Can you just imagine how that one would play out? eyroll Better to be known as a cheapskate than a deadbeat, right? Wait... I am not sure either is acceptable.

Doomed either way. :)

Ok video is up in this post

I hate to drop links but its the only way to get you to come by my page :(

Oh my goodness, Denise, such a lovely Autumn market, absolutely love it . So many beautiful pumpkins.......upv & rsd 🌺🎃🌺
I have some pumpkins for you too:
https://steemit.com/marketfriday/@lenasveganliving/autumn-collection-for-friday-market

Lena! You did a harvest #MarketFriday! How simply delightful! You know I love it! Yours has those cute little scarecrows into your garden. My parents used to make their own, made of cast-off clothing. It really was fun to dress the scarecrow. It always did look a little ratty after a good rainstorm!

I don't think I have ever seen the harvest corn look so festive! Mine has some rattan looking ribbon and - well, it looks like country stylin' ... Yours looks a tad more elegant, just like you. xoxo

Now, you are going to have to tell me which one is pepper squash. I have never heard nor seen it. Honest injun. But that array of gourds and squash is awesome and really brings my soul back to the Autumn feeling. Now, if it would stop being hot.... Oh, my goodness, your fall flowers are all ready for planting! I still have summer going strong here. No place to plant fall yet! Yikes!

As usual, you come blasting in with such a stellar post! Love, love, love it! I hope you had a wonderful #MarketFriday and got a chance to peruse some of the other places in the world. Very interesting! Love to you, my friend! tip! xoxo

Do you know you sent me a tip twice??? lol

@lenasveganliving - Yes. Everyone got two tips. One for their post on their page and one for the link on mine. My way of thanking them for being so helpful. xo

Ohhhhhhhhhhh I see!!! Now when you are rich you can throw money around lol
Just kidding, thank you so much Darling, that is very kind of you 🌺🎃🌺

LOL .01 ? You are easy!

0.2 LOL..................XOXO

This amazing sooo great that #marketfriday with @dswigle giving us how pumpkin are harvested.nice one there....have a nice day Denise

Thank you so much! We love our pumpkins here! :) I went out to the farm and checked their progress to see how the harvest is going!

So nice of you to stop by and say hello and drop some love! Have a nice day @odsam2! tip!

Thank you @dswigle and @tipU for the amazing morning tips ....you always make my day with #marketfriday a day to leave without and always wish friday never pass.

Thank you! You guys always make my day when you visit my blogs!

This was so wonderful to come across! The colors of the pumpkins are so colorful and they almost shout out for me to stop and take a look at them. Scenes like this will become more and more prevalent as we get closer to Halloween and Thanksgiving.

I am in love with the different sizes and shapes of them. I hope you got time to peruse a few other markets. It is always fun to see what is going on in other parts of the world.

Thank you for sharing your #MarketFriday post with us! It is so fun to have you! tip!

You found a good selection, I to think thew orange and green ones are the best of the bunch and the colors of them work well together

They are, aren't they? I really love the ornamental gourds! Sometimes I throw a little shellac on them to make them last a little longer. Especially if I get them at the farm where they have not had time to dry out.

Will you be going to the pumpkin patch with the grandkids, Jj? When I was growing up, my grandparents always had a pumpkin carving contest. I hope you had a fabulous day and were able to stick to your new guidelines! tip!

Thanks so much for the tip
No I don’t think we will get to the pumpkin patch or to do carving with the grandkids this year

Have a great weekend

i love these deep colors and awesome details of the pumpkins shooted here Denise !

here my entry to this week #marketfriday !! thank you very much for this initiative !

https://steemit.com/marketfriday/@victorbz/market-friday-market-madness-black-and-white-journey-through-mahane-yehuda-jerusalem

I haven't seen a Hasidic Jew since I left New York City. This picture brings back longing for this type of scene. This post is awesome, as all yours are, mixing the yesteryear feel with today's vibes. What a wondrous place that must be as a photographer.

It is the tiniest of details, like the baby, I can almost see the eyeroll of impatience on his face. :)

The stream of people moving in ten different directions, no path. Just full steam ahead. You are awesome and I just love how you capture these scenes! I always appreciate the time and effort spent putting these post together for #MarketFriday! tip!

The first photo. The pumpkin looks like it could be an extra in a Dr.Who show.
It looks proper alien, as if something is about to burst out of it? Yikes!
And here is my #Marketfriday post as requested @dswigle ;)

https://steemit.com/marketfriday/@molometer/marketfriday-challenge-are-you-going-to-scarborough-fair

I finally got to see it! Thank you! Thank you!

That's it? All my life I have sung that song, envisioning it the way that Simon and Garfunkel presented it... or so I thought. They are missing their opportunity! :)

I agree with Melinda on this one, although, I must thank you for showing it off. And wow! That giant was quite big. LOL I have to say, it may have looked a little different on a sunny day. Perhaps. Perhaps.

But, I do appreciate strolling through. I even grabbed a little sage. I was running out. Thank you so much, my friend!! tip!

I just read @old-guy-phoyos post.
That seagull seems to get about a bit. Did you see it? ;)

That pesky seagull!! He is everywhere! No wonder I couldn't find him for #MarketFriday!!! :) I will need to talk to the Old Guy! :)

Seagulls and chips lol go together like peas and carrots.

They are addicted to American French Fries too!

Haha chips and French fries. What's that quote?
Two countries separated by a common language
tip!

Hehehe! Don't get too close. It just may! I mean, truly can one ever really tell? :)

excellent post dear friend @dswigle I love the calabraza, here in my province is consumed a lot, we make different foods, cupcakes and jams.
Thank you very much for sharing this excellent material congratulations.
I wish you a Merry Friday market

Thank you so much, my friend! These lovely fruits (that look like vegetables!) are so varied and many! I had no idea that there are literally dozens that I didn't know about!

I have made the cupcakes and soups, but I would certainly be interested in the jam! I have never heard of that! Thank you for taking the time to peruse the #MarketFriday and look forward to perhaps seeing you again! tip!

Have a wonderful weekend!

very funny pumpkins !!!!! colorful and all in the tubercles :)))) I have not seen such. and I never saw a blue pumpkin either. I just today baked a pumpkin in the oven with sugar

Oh!!! What a coincidence! It must be that harvest-y feeling we are having with the beginning of the season, even if it is still warm!

What kind of squash did you make? :) I actually made butternut squash with cinnamon and a tiny bit of honey. It was yummy. I think it was all this produce my page that got me going! xoxo tip!

To make finding the posts easier, would you please leave a link of your post in the comment section of my #MarketFriday post? This way, nobody will be forgotten or lost and I can hope for more exposure for everyone if you are all together. Thank you! Denise xoxo

Ooooo! I read about cinnamon that with a pumpkin is very tasty. now I will definitely try to add cinnamon when I'm still baking the pumpkin. I cooked it just with sugar. I have a new oven to which I have not yet got used. I was sorry to spoil the food so I decided to do something simpler so that if it suddenly burned in the oven, it was not very insulting :))))

Hehehehe! I like the way you think! :)

Hey, Denise! UPV & RSD your post Friday morning and had to change my original theme because it also was pumpkins and gourds from the daytrip my mom and I took earlier in the week. Finally got mine posted! Have a terrific day!🍁🎃🍁 https://steemit.com/marketfriday/@ninahaskin/market-friday-3-original-content-images

My favorite time of the year! I love the holidays with the festive colors and lights, and the hot glue gun and lots of sparkly glitter that seems to end up in the most bizarre places.

What are we making?? Will we be seeing it next week?

Thank you always for your participation and for taking me to the craft store. They are really one of the most fun places to be to get my creative juices flowing. I need a few Halloween things for this year. And Thanksgiving. And Christmas. Sigh. Better get moving, huh?

Tell your son Happy Birthday from everyone here at steemit! tip!

Oh, by the way, Nina! You never have to change your post because of that. We had quite a few of them and it was fine. Next time!!! xoxo

hello happy saturday I love the color that nice, no time and family problems I did not make my entrance, this is wonderful tip!

Happy Saturday! I hope that all is well now. I missed your smiley face! :)

Good morning friend & you share lot of colorful pumpkins

Good morning! I did! It is harvest time here! Time to pick the pumpkins! :) Have a wonderful Friday!!

I am going to bed now, but hope to have time tomorrow for a market post! So much fun!!

Thank you! That would be so fun!! Good night now! Sweet dreams!

I did it!! With 2.5 hours to spare before it is Saturday - and I go to the market instead of posting about it :)

https://steemit.com/marketfriday/@mariannewest/market-friday-our-very-first-food-swap

It was a totally fabulous post!!!

This is really such a wonderful idea, Marian! We have something similar to that here, no money is allowed to exchange and people barter for services and products they grow or make. It makes it really exciting to get it for nothing!

Or no money change anyway!

Thank you for bringing up this idea! It really is an awesome idea and many people are not aware that you can do it and that it is done. And it's fun!!! Appreciate the participation!!! Thanks for bringing me to the swap meet! tip!

Thank you so much!! And thank you for the tips!! So much appreciated! Is the barter fair pretty established? If you go and remember, I would love to interview and organizer. To figure out how to live a more sustainable life is what our podcast is all about :) And while we have some big names on our show and I very much appreciate them being our guests, I love to interview the "little people" who make a big difference - or a small - in their neck of the woods.

It will pretty much be over for this part of the season. I will check again to see when it will restart!

I remember growing up in New England and still to this day they barter a lot of things, especially in places like Long Island, all the way out on the North Fork.

That's my kind of market! I love taking the grandkids out to the pumpkin patch! Beautiful photos. Upped and steemed

I love this kind of place too. All the farms in the outlying areas are busy with the cornfields and picking pumpkins. I can hardly wait to get my hands on a big, fat pumpkin for the seeds and a great carving!

Do you carve yours? Thanks for the love and support! xoxo

Nope..I set them on the front steps until I am ready to roast them and turn them into soups and pies. I never get any trick-or-treaters out here.

Well, that just saved you $100!

great post, those pumkins look great!! we recently went looking for pumkins as well, I will post about it soon in the #marketfriday

Thank you! I look forward to it! I am having everyone link their post in the comment section here so they are easier to find and get more exposure. Thank you @shaunf

coolio!!

How very cool!!! Coolio, no?

That was a nice array of pumpkins you found there. It certainly is that time of year and the pumpkin stands are starting to sprout up everywhere! How exciting to see all the different sizes and shapes.

Some can even be for dinner! :)

I would say that you really got a bang for your buck on your pumpkin. I will send you $5.00 US - Please mail me 5 pumpkins.

Your fiancee did an awesome job! It appears she cut out all the right features in the correct places. We cannot ask for any more than that. Put a candle in it and put it outside. Awesome post! Thanks for taking us to the pumpkin market for #MarketFriday! tip!

Hi Denise! wonderful post. I liked so much pumpkins. When you make the sculpture, do not forget to show us. Have a nice day.

Hi @ginga! I love pumpkins and squash! Do you carve your pumpkins? I will be happy to display the escultra when I finish with them, usually, they are put out at the end of October! Thanks for visiting!

Have an awesome day!

No @dswigle I do not know how to carve pumpkins. There is not much of this habit in Portugal but I pity.

I'll wait for your post in the end of October.

This is my link:
https://steemit.com/marketfriday/@ginga/marketfriday-initiated-by-dswigle-night-market-timor-plaza-dili-east-timor-mercado-nocturno-timor-plaza-dili-timor-leste-pt-or

Thanks again, dear Denise. A very nice fridaymarket for you.

This is such a wonderful shot of the night market! So much to see and so much to buy! :)

I notice the overlap of food choices from Indonesia to Eastern Timor. Is that because of immigration? I love all the different foods that are offered while you are shopping. It makes it so much easier than to rush through so that you can go home to eat.

Thank you for taking me along on the stroll through at night on #MarketFriday! It was awesome! tip!

Cool to learn about this market Friday posts. :)

They are wonderful @zararina! Take your time and peruse the comment section which has all the links. You too can travel the world in a few short minutes. :)

Thank you for coming and taking a stroll.

I love the colors! Congratulations @dswigle.

Thank you very much! So kind of you to stop by!

Market friday! Nice post.

Thank you. I hope you were able to check out some of the wonderful links in the comment section. There are some amazing markets out there!

Appreciate the strolling through the market. We go shopping every Friday! ;)

Does gourds also taste like pumpkins. We don't have gourds here. Wait I think we have bitter gourds here. Great country feel on your photos.

You are exactly right! Some squashes are actually called gourds, such as the acorn squash and many others, but, the ornamental gourds are just that. Ornamental and not edible. They won't poison you, but the flesh is dry and bitter. I hope that answers your question.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you were able to take the time to peruse some of the other links here to check out all the markets in the world. Have a wonderful day!

wow its so big and lovely.

I love going to the farms and their stands. You know that it is as fresh as it gets, right? Have an awesome #MarketFriday! ;)

ooo wow so much variety of pumpkins... thanks for amazing post

I had no idea that there were this many until I went to the farm to check them out! And this is only a tiny sampling of what is available! I googled it and found so much more!

Thank you for the visit and taking the time to do a walkabout. Happy #MarketFriday!

yeah find it in farm i too look those species of pumpkin.

Amazing, isn't it? I learn something new every day!

truely amazing. now i will search for google how they are genetically differ nd how they are formed.

Excellent idea!

yeah ...

I am sharing the same things, almost, this week! I love the look, and feel of these gourds. Beautiful shots, Denise!

https://steemit.com/marketfriday/@icybc/market-friday-celebrating-fall-season

Yours are amazing, Icy!! So up close and personal - and clean!!! The farm hadn't given mine a proper bath yet! :)

Thank you so much for the wonderful look at your beautiful gourds and Indian corn. I too am fascinated by them and some of the artwork they are used for.

While I am not quite ready to toss my summer aside for the next season, Autumn is such a beautiful time of year and the harvest season is the reward for taking good care. Thank you for sharing your #MarketFriday with us - and especially your awesome photography!

Great posts everyone the markets are the best place to get fresh food, here is my post for the challenge https://steemit.com/marketfriday/@isteemithard/market-friday-swap-shop-wheres-the-bargain-marketfriday

What an absolutely amazing place! I go to Fort Lauderdale frequently and I cannot believe that I miss out on this!

Plus the drive-in movies! When was the last time you have seen one of those dinosaurs? I love his selection of zoom-zoom cars. Yes, please!

I'm all about the indoor/outdoor markets! This was pretty awesome and I hope to visit it one day! I hope you have a wonderful #MarketFriday and thank you for the walkabout today! It was a wonderful experience!

Amazing!!

Beautiful post, I love the pumpkin, I usually make a pudding with them. I love how they look in the pictures.

Pudding?? Oh, my!! That sounds so yummy!! I have never heard of it before! Now I must look one up! Thank you!

Ohhh myyyy, Denise... I love love love all your gourds... Soooo many many kinds - we probably only see a fraction of what you have, and pumpkins here don't resemble what we see in your pictures at all! What wonderful pictures... I'm taking it along with me! Lol... Thank you for sharing them all! I have been collecting pictures for MarketFriday, and had enough to post yesterday but I missed it, so will join you next week! I think you will like what I have... 😊

Really? What do your pumpkins look like? Now I am very interested. There are literally dozens and dozens of different kinds here.

Thank you for taking it home with you! oxox

No worries. You know, there is always another week. The only hard part is waiting to see what you come up with! Usually so unique! I await it with excitement! xoxo Have a great weekend!

Ooohhh, now I definitely need to have everything in tip top market condition for next week! :D Our pumpkins here.... take your ugliest dullest pumpkin - that what ours look like! Lol - I must take a shot for you one of these days... ;) You're most welcome, Denise... Happy to take it along...

:) You always have one of the best posts!!!! :)

Awwwww, shucks! You're too kind... xoxox

I was out all day, so i could not join you...but i am soooooo pleased to see this post is doing so well! Big hurray! Big love!

There is always another #MarketFriday! I missed your awesome post, but, I look forward to another week when life does not get in the way. It has a way of doing that!

Big hurray and Denise is so very excited. I have never a post do this well. I have so many people and a little curator to thank. Big love, my @dutchess! I hope you are relaxing and making the most of the evening over there! :)

I am my friend. Taking live as it comes - staying away from worries for tomorrow and focussing on the Now. You know i can! I ll be joining you for sure next week again and i will dedicate my post for Sunday to you 😍😘

You are too sweet!!! Have a great night!! No steeming in your sleep!

What a cool blistered skins they have!
I actually have no idea what is the difference between squash, pumpkin, and gourd. To me they are all pumpkins.

They all run in the same family, but the gourds are usually ornamental and cannot be eaten. There are some that are technically gourds that can be eaten, but, they are usually "referred" to as pumpkins.

I know! That wasn't helpful at all!!!! xoxox

Hahaha nop it wasn't :p
So gourds cannot be eaten unless they can :D

Just remember this: gourds are for ornamentation, squash is for cooking, and pumpkin is for cooking or carving. I hope that helps a little! :) They are all under the umbrella of the enormous family of Cucurbitaceae .

Oh that is better.
I will still not know which one is which when I see a pile of different pumpkins :p

The ones that are pretty and small with little lumps on it are usually the ornamental. (rule of thumb?)

Okay :) I hardly see those here anyway... I think it is not so popular to decorate houses for Halloween, or celebrate it.

I have never seen a roadside market like this one before! I must say that the man must have amazing skills to make a shot like that. I cannot even keep them in my eyesight for more than a moment or three.

This is exactly why I love the #MarketFriday. It gives a picture of different markets around the globe. This is in Ghana and so very different from my own. You just made the earth much smaller with your reach over.

Congratulations @dswigle!

Wowzers! Those are some epic squash, gourds, and pumpkins!! I love the ones that sort of look like they have warts or bubbles on them. Gives 'em character! Resteemed!

They really are, aren't they? I love the warty ones too! Most of the best-warted ones are gourds and are only for ornamentation, but, I can live with that! Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very happy #MarketFriday!

Thanx, I didn't go to a market, but so far it is still a good Friday =)

:) Excellent!

Gourds fascinate me. Their colors and shapes are endless it seems. I've never heard of cheese pumpkin. I'm headed over to look that up as soon as I jump off of here. Oh, and you are right, eating the roasted seeds are the best!

I swear!! They are real! :) There are some that I never heard of - I was wondering where they have been all my life. I mean, I have been here! Oh, I think I buy the pumpkins just so I can roast their seeds. I do! I know, I could buy them already roasted, but, I do not like the thick layer of salt that covers them.

I definitely prefer my own cooking when it comes to these. Thank you for perusing the #MarketFriday posts. Enjoy the rest of your day!

I love the shapes and colors of pumpkins just like the shapes and colors of my tomatoes. It is wonderful that after harvesting my tomatoes it is time to admire the pumpkins. Great shots - touch-sensitive pictures :D:D:D

Isn't it though? My tomatoes are still hanging on, barely and the pumpkins are being picked. What an odd year for growing. Thank you so much for the always lovely comments. xo

Denise your stars must all be shining as bright as Venus at the moment. So wonderous. 🌟✨🌟

Your pumpkins are so voluptuous and the gourds so uniquly textured. Love the nobbles ~ Almost like our Old Man Banksias ~ And the deep indigo with the orange is so rich. Your Autumn seems to be so much more defined than ours. Have a beautiful week-end. 🌟✨🌟

Thank you so much, Ally! The weekend is upon us! Oh, glorious! It is so weird. The weather is still screaming summer, yet the trees and everything are saying fall is here.

Have a most wonderful weekend!

This is fabulous! Is the meat inexpensive there because of the volume that they sell? It looks like they sell half a cow there! I love markets that you can buy the flowers and groceries and all of your needs right there!

A one-stop shopping!

Thank you for taking us shopping with you! It was a really enjoyable trip and I loved following you are you navigated the shops. I just love globetrotting throughout the world for these markets. You make them interesting and fun!!

Thank you!

Yea, I also think so...you're most welcome denise @dswigle 😊

They are also one of my favorites, but very hard to find where I live. Cheers :)

Perhaps you can order seeds from a catalog and plant your own? I have done that before, especially if something wasn't available to me! You know how fast squash grows!

Thank you for visiting #MarketFriday and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

My grandmother used to grow them. I will have a go at growing them but, i am not sure if they will grown were i live, i have a different environment. I let you know if it works. Cheers

Where do you live?

Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Australia.

Hmmmm If it is near the coast, sometimes too much salt and sand?

Yes, also the fact we really didn't get a winter this year. and hasn't rained for 4 months now. but I will try.

Where do you live?

All those colours and shapes are totally fairytale like. Like precious jewel covered vessels for storing the elixir of life in haha
What a charming thought.
Have a beautiful day Denise. I shall wander in the hope of finding some Friday marketers. Xxxx

Oh, do!! Take a wander about! There are some wonderful #MarketFriday posts here! I still have not gotten to the bottom of them!!!

I'd love to go market with you! Those gourds are interesting. We do not have those here in the Philippines! Beautiful colors, beautifully captured!

Oh, now that would be fun! If you peruse this post, you find they are from all over the world, and so different from each other. Some very much the same, but, I love all the different markets!
