The Billboard Music Awards was pretty much overshadowed by the debut of Iggy Azalea's new face but another rapper came close to making even bigger headlines when he was almost arrested.
Wiz Khalifa, a notoriously weed-friendly artist, decided to spark up right there on the red carpet. His high was nearly ruined when an angry Las Vegas police officer walked right up to him and demanded he put it out.
according to Jeff Kravitz, the photographer who captured this shot, the police officer "told him to keep that shit off his carpet or he'd have to arrest him." Wiz himself, showing a sense of humor about the encounter, posted the same picture to his instagram with a comment saying: "Could you put the weed out sir?" Yes, of course.
the encounter clearly didn't shake him as he later performed "see you again" with Charlie Puth & Lindsay Stirling for which they received a standing ovation.
this is't the first time Wiz has had a run-in with the law regarding his love of marijuana. just under a year ago he was arrested for possesion en route to perform for the Neon Desert Music Festival in El Paso, Texas.
