Hi All,
I like Steemit and figure my first post should be something useful for others.. and I note few other maker type posts here!
In this folder you will find 5 working FFF profiles (Dropbox, no reg required, just click on "No, Continue to View/Download" ):
These are pretty basic XML like files with all the settings you need to successfully print (or at least get you started) these filaments with Simplify3d and a suitable 3D Printer. Im using a Rostock Max V2 with PEI bed, note the max temps for PolyCarbonate and Nylon require upgraded Extruder. You likely will need to tweak Settings to your setup.
You can import them with the Import FFF Profile in the File menu in Simplify3D:
You will need to set your Extruder "Nozzle Diameter" to whatever your Extruder actually is (I use 0.4mm and 0.6mm extruders):
Example Prints:
PolyCarbonate (from Poly Maker)
Properties: Very, very rigid, likely the strongest/most rigid thing you can print at the moment. Hard to get it to stick to PEI bed, hence high temp and wide initial printing layers. Raft recommended.
Extruder: Temps: 265c initial layers, 258c printing temp
Bed Temp: 109c on PEI directly
PETG (note this is a photo of a failed print, quality is better with settings above)
Properties: Strong, somewhat flexible, doesnt break easily. Good price - strength compromise.
Extruder: Temps: 245c initial layers, 244c printing temp
Bed Temp: 95c on PEI directly
Any questions, let me know!
