RE: The Weekly Turni- Issue 41

in #magazine4 years ago

@toushik two decades back, I used to go to Rajasthan in western India to do geological field work. During and after work I have travelled extensively in Rajasthan. The city I enjoyed a lot, for a strange reason, is Jodhpur. Not only due to its rugged beauty, but also due to its food. One of the thing you can get in Jodhpur is called "Makhhania Lassi" served in a Patiala Glass (look up what that is!). It was served with a long spoon, because it is so thick, it is nearly impossible to 'drink'. So you used the spoon to shove it in your mouth at 'eat' it :) It is the most awesome tasting lassi I ever had! If you ever get a chance to visit, I highly recommend it..

dada, I will surely visit India one day, just to eat some popular foods of india. I just look up on Patiala lassi glass. It is also relatively longer than normal glass. I will taste for sure if i get chance to drink.

Throughout the month of Ramadan, we have been drinking this matha and ghol in Iftar. It is about 35 km far from my home. We had to buy it a day and keep it in the fridge and drink whole a week.
