Are my Eyes Red?

Decorator Crab-1.jpg

Camouflage and colourful. Decorator Crabs come in all shapes and sizes. These little guys can be tough to spot since they blend in so well with algae and invertebrates living on the reefs in the Pacific Northwest.

Thanks for reading.

Incredible picture. I loved this!

What a beautiful part of the world. I'm learning more about the area as I wwatch the TV series Alone.

These crabs are so cleverly camouflaged that they are not visible. Very interesting photo.

I can't spot the crab in your image. hahaha

A deceptive little critter. Isn't he?

i dont know about that but this picture is so amazing that i have save it in my ard disk loved it

Very cool capture and a "no seeum" crab. We have "no seeum" tiny bugs in this area that bite in the summer and are never seen so I guess this is a crab with the same talent. LOl!

Hi @scottdphoto! Do you know what this guy is wearing? I've learned that somehow each species would wear the same kind of 'decoration' on them. I once saw a corallimorph decorator crab on a night dive that did look like any ordinary corallimorph... not until it started walking!

I'm new to steemit, by the way, and I'm inspired by your content. Maybe one of these days I'll share some of my underwater critter photos (although they'll never be as good as the ones you have. Lol)

Wonderful, I am a biologist and I love this information. :)

that is a great camoflage :D i can hardly spot it ha ha , well done & suuper cool macro :D

Great post there, keep up good work !
