Very cool. Thanks for bringing attention to this part of the dump. I found the letter from Ziad Takieddine particularly interesting. Here's the juiciest part, there's more though:
However, my basic internet research has brought to my attention that Mr. Mandl who was our prime CEO candidate, has omitted some very serious information from his resume which I believe have a serious impact in his suitability to become CEO.
You will find if you look on various search engines that Mr. Mandl is a director/trustee, and a key participant in IN-Q-TEL, an “enterprise funded by the Central Intelligence Agency, whose mission “is to identify and invest in companies developing cutting- edge information technologies that serve US national security interests…. ensure that that the Agency has access to emerging and developing information technology in a timely manner…”
Clearly, smart card technology fits that firm's objectives.
I am absolutely outraged that Mr. Mandl, who has not shied away from claiming the positions he has in the US, kept this directorship secret from the Search Committee and the Board. I am appalled that the headhunters did not give this information to us. And I am dumfounded that Mr. David Bonderman, the lead director involved in recruiting Mr. Mandl, has decided not to inform the Board of this key piece of information.
What would happen if we were to appoint Mandl? I can only imagine the headlines: Gemplus "taken over" by the CIA or "infiltrated" by the CIA. And confirming earlier rumors.
Both are as shady as can be...
