Day 3 Vlog! Up, Up We Go!!

in #lukin-bikes7 years ago

What is up my Steem People? Lukin here, and Day three was crazy! We climbed up to 4200FT Altitude. I felt like I was about to die. I peddled from Pendelton, Oregon to Meacham, Oregon. I stopped at this old diner in the town of Meacham. The town couldn't have more than 80 people in it. I also met an old man on a motorcycle, I tried to pitch Steemit to him, but he said he doesn't even know what Facebook was, because he hasn't even used the Internet. I find that hard to believe. Haha. Everybody I have come across has been so nice! The Park Ranger even let me stay at my campsite for free! I told her I was on an adventure to cross the country and I had this platform behind me, and that I was only using the Steem generated funds, and she thought that was pretty cool, so she let me stay for free in a full hook up camp site. Basically $35 camp site for free. I haven't come across many people of my generation yet, I feel I will get to them when I hit the bigger cities. And I got some plans up my sleeves!!
I'm thinking of having a rest day on Saturday or Sunday. Not sure which, but I have to have wifi atleast on Saturday so I can watch my UFC fights!!!
👊🏻

Hope everyone has a very good night! Day 4 Vlog(today) will be uploaded early in the morning before I head off on day 5!:)

My bro you need some sunscreen. Them rays are lethal. Stay safe and stay blessed.

hahahaha, thank god for this bright summer

Haha, they are no joke. I do put sunscreen on in the morning, I must sweat it off, and I'm too lazy to stop pedaling and put more on. I'm not sure if lazy is the right word, ha, but I hate stopping when I'm in a groove!
Thank you, you stay blessed too. Hope you and your family are well!

That's kind of crazy to me that there are people in America that have never used the internet. I am constantly on the computer, phone, tablet or something. I don't know how to function without internet haha.

Right? You'd think they'd have to atleast know what Facebook is. In 2017 you'd have to not have a tv, read a newspaper, or go outside to not know what one of the biggest companies is.

Nothing beats a great adventure! Back again to post this...

Your adventure reminds me of the movie Craigslist Joe, where this guy lives off Craigslist. 🤣

Loved this movie!! I watched it not too long ago!!

😃 good then you'll know what I mean... with Steemit, you have a community going with you on your adventure and rooting for you... With Craigslist Joe, it was basically the kindness of strangers. Stay safe and keep us posted!

Thank you!:) yes I want this to feel just as much as everyone's as my journey!!

Love this free blogging concept. powered by people technology.

nice post something different

Good post!

Great vlog!

wow great work, your video talks much.

I used to bike a lot when I was a teen but the most I ever peddled was 36 miles and my legs were jelly for a day or two after. I would probable have a heart attack if I tried that today I need to get my fat butt in shape.

Haha, honestly the first time I started to cycle, I think I threw up after 8 miles lol, then after a week or two I was able to do 30 regularly, then my body was just used to it, wether I was in shape or not I could ride for distance. It was the same with jumproping. When I first started I could barley do 100, after. A week I was doing abou 4000 a day. And now I'm sure I could jump right back in the groove

great blog @lukinsawyer im enjoying it..

Thank you so much sandara!!

your always welcome :)

Wow, that looks like so much fun! What an adventure... I wish I was riding with you. Keep posting so we can be with you in spirit. Be safe and enjoy every moment!

This is cool. Ha ha. Where I grew up we didn't have cell phones until about 2000 and barely three channels. It was a lot like Meacham! Outpost, not even a map dot. Folks would. Ike across Kansas and we just stared at them. It is windy, dirty, flat and hot and 30-60 miles between houses or gas stations at best. You will see so much and home will never feel so good but it will never be the same. You're my fave Steemer! Gusto and spirit of adventure. Hats off Lukin!

I love small towns. That town you grew up in actually sounds quite peaceful! Were you from a farming family? There isn't a place quite like home, is there?
Thank you so much for continuing to tune in and comment, it means the world to me.

Yep - it was and is peaceful. We lived 7 miles from it down a dirt road. I learned how to ride a bike on that road, and a 2 cycle Honda. And wrecked a few cars. 7 miles. Sometimes a long walk :). My mom sold the house after my dear dad passed on and it is always home. Best friend lives there now. Yeah. Home. It is in my heart forever. Best place on Earth!! I am jazzed for you. We follow and reminisce a lot, so thanks for sharing your wild fun!

Wheat farmers.....oh my goodness, so many years of long, hard days and really rich memories. Wish we had a farm, but suburbs are okay for kids. They need more dirt. Do ya think Steem buys dirt?!

Haha I'm sure steem could buy dirt! Haha in the summers I used to go over and spend the whole season over at my grandpas farm. I loved it. My grandma would grow all different types of flowers and fruit and vegetables, she always grew stuff that people said couldn't grow in the eastern part of the tri cities. She could tell you a story about every tree (she grew about 15 different types of trees from all different parts of the country. She would break of a branch and grow it. Pretty crazy.) , every plant, everything haha.

Sounds like you are in shape and at high altitudes. You are having an outdoor adventure of a lifetime. Thanks for sharing.

Yes! An adventure it sure is. I'm hoping it last for quite awhile! Thanks for tuning in and commenting!

Awesome Dude!!! Keep it up!!

Thank you:)

Awesome journey- thanks for sharing! Can't wait to read more.
My favorite part of traveling was taking random pics of things that fascinated me, like tiny post offices! Haha.
You should have gotten a pic of your friend who didn't know what Facebook was 😳
Safe travels and have fun, cheers!

Haha, I don't think he knew what a camera even was. No, he was a really old man, and seemed he lived a pretty simple life, which, I'd actually prefer haha. Thank you:) hope you tune in for the daily vlogs!

cool dude... i grew up in a farmland in a small town.... and then i started working in the city....

i comeback from time to time... and i wanted to retire there during old days....

i just love the smell of the grass... the cool breeze wind.... the barnyard...the fruit bearing trees.... the tomatoes in the backyard.... the coffe every morning....thats what you call life....

sorry just sharing...

Some of my favorite moments was living out of town, and in the summer find a place that was quiet and just listen to the nature around me. There was this special spot me and my friends would go, where we would lay in this patch of grass and just sit and watch the clouds go by.

Amazing post my bro keep it up

That looks like some climb your doing grand. And the view wow breathtaking indeed if that doesn’t keep you going don’t know what will. Unless you stop and admire it for too long that is.

Loving being able to see some scenery from the US. Keep on peddling :)

I'm glad to share. I can't wait to get down to southern Utah, some of my favorite scenery I've ever seen in the US!!

Looking forward to it. Its strange I have never really seen any footage of US scenery. You would think in this day and age there would be more around, guess if your not looking. I am very impressed a lot more stunning than I imagined :)

Oh just wait until I get down into southern Utah!! It's amazing down there!!

Sounds like you're about adventure. Stay safe l wish you the best.

Thank you!! Yes I love adventure. I want to live life to the fullest, before I start settling down.
😊

I like steemit or eSteem. please help me. please follow me @martunisa

The man who said he not used internet must be joking, right?

I thought he was at first, but no, no he wasn't joking. He was an old 70 year man, who probably lived a really simple life.
