Yes and you can. But no fruit will produce in Arkansas climate. instead you get a beautiful small tree. I have a friend that has a fully grown avocado tree topping out around 8 ft. It is the same concept the seed will begin to split it has to stay very moist and you'll watch the plant begin to grow.
