Reflections on loving - Part 2

Be like the bamboo. Strong on the outside, soft and open on the inside 💜💜💜

Love should not be a competition.
Yet more often than we should, we keep track of who does what and who does more.
Keeping score should be left to sports. It does not have its place in a relationship.
Love should be about giving freely, without wanting to have the better deal in return.

Many people claim to be lovers. However, if they would demonstrate it, I think that it would be a life changer.
We say we love and care about our loved ones. How are we making it evident?
We often admit that we are deeply disturbed by many global problems; poverty, violence, war, hatred. But how do we show that we are concerned? If there is no tangible evidence of our love in action, can we really claim that we are loving?
If right now, you were to go say to your parents that you loved them and thanked them for everything they have given you, I could almost guarantee you that they would be utterly surprised and would probably think you want to ask them a favour.
We need to change this.

How often do I come across people who nag and complain about every single thing they could possibly think of. ''The kids are too loud!'', ''the food is bad'' , ''the waiter is too slow'' , ''this world is corrupt! '' . I could literally hear them complain if I was on the other side of the continent. And then, when I step in, and tell them about myself, and that Im a love activist and that I have been doing research on it for many years, they tell me: '' This world needs more love! Thank god there are still people like you and me who believe that''

As new lovers, we frequently let fear consume us and let it get to us to the point of dreading the future of the relationship. Those who let it become a possibility, are often the ones who end up caught up in it. Love should be nourished by positivity. Those who are hopeful dont just let it come to them, they strive to make it happen.

Say ''no'' to fear, as it is detrimental to life.
Say ''yes'' to love, as it is the liberating of life.

When I was younger, I used to go to church often and I remember it today as a time of my life where people were united. This is why I am a firm believer that we need eachother in order to live a happier, longer, healthier life. It is a false belief to think that self-sufficiency is enough. We cant make life all about us and constantly find ways to make things or people benefit ourselves and our lives. Have you ever heard the adage ''two heads work better than one?''
We are a team and this is why we should start acting as one! Cooperation is an important part of love.
