Pandemoniac Beau (An indecisive lover)

in #love7 years ago

They climbed the mountain of emotions
When the winds of affection grew fierce
"Don't you think you are fast?" he questioned her confidence
She stared at his hand holding hers

They stood under the love tree
When suddenly it became dark and cloudy
"I'm scared" he said darting towards shelter
Stranded, she looked up at the enormous tree

They sailed on the river of silence
When her words rocked the boat
"I need time" he said
She fondled the flowing waters

They sat on the shore of contemplation
When she lapped his feet for affirmation
"I am not sure" he said
She returned to the vastness and the depth

They floated on the clouds of solitude
When they began to drift away
"I'm sorry" he said
She rained tears

In this poem,
A couple rises in mutual admiration. When they're about to soar with emotions, the man questions the woman's confidence without realising that he is the one from whom she's drawing the confidence.

When both of them are about to take refuge in love, the man gets scared and runs to the safety of non-commitment. She is bewildered and wonders why he felt that the abundance of her love wasn't enough to comfort his fears.

She feels desolated because of his indifference and silence, so she speaks up. He hasn't made up his mind yet, so he bids for more time. She realises that it's slipping away from her, so she fondles the moments as they pass.

She begs him to affirm his love for her, but he evades it by saying he isn't sure. She knows it's over, so she recoils to the vastness of her heart and depth of her love.

As they drift apart from each other, the man apologises to the woman. She can't help but break down and cry.

Deep stuff. Really.

Thank you @thebatmanbiker. I love the use of elements in this poem
Apart from the metaphors, this poem is symbolic of the winds blowing the dew drops from the trees into the flowing rivers that meet the sea and evaporate into clouds to pour down as rain. :)
