I have been with my husband 6 years and we are still alive....just. We haven't killed each other although I have wanted to throttle him on a daily basis and he probably as me.
BUT we are happily married. Funny that.
This is because we are happy to dislike each other sometimes. He hates it when I over dramatize things and I hate it when he walks in covered in saw dust trailing it around the house. I hate it when he sits in the car and he hasn't blown himself off properly.
(I should explain that statement- He is a pattern maker and every night uses an air machine to blow off the saw dust. )
I also hate the fact that he is a self-confessed grump, but that does add to his dry wit.
He's a very unintentionally funny man.
Anyway It works because we have humour, he is hardworking and we have a high level of trust. We are completely different. Opposites in fact. We don't like the same things but we have the same morals and we always learn from each other. Plus we have great chemistry!
So what do you think makes a marriage work?

Sara, thanks for sharing about your life love and marriage. For me, opposites do attract in marriage. Yes we do have some arguments and fireworks. But each morning I wake up Greatful and thankful that she is in my life. Followed upvoted and resteemed

I think it's a mixture of all the above.
My husband and I just share the same sense of humour. We are just on the same wave length.
We have our opposites. His idea of a fun afternoon is going for a long run or bike ride. Whereas mine is to look around a castle or stately home.
I still love him dearly after 18 years of marriage, not sure what the magic recipe is, we just work :)
