Don’t buy , adopt!
Most of us are animal lovers, we smile and wave at random dogs being walked by their fur parents. We love spending time looking at funny and cute pictures and videos of dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and other pets in the internet. We literally do this to get some positive vibes in out hectic daily routine or even just to get though a boring day.
Needless to say we look at our pets and animals as part of our family and community. We even give them to loved ones as gifts.
But what we don't know is that we need to see them not only as cute but as living things that needs proper care and have the basic things a human needs as well.
Some are abandoned if they are not cute and adorable anymore.
I guided this darling in crossing a busy street. Just a little help to keep them safe.
and these poor babies just growing up without a mom or an owner who can take care of them.
Also I saw this one in a train station. They can get seriously injured in these kind of situations.
there are some kind-hearted souls that may feed them or pet them as they pass by. I was glad to see this.
I'm talking about the way we get or acquire them. Do we buy from pet shops? Do we advertise online or to friends and sell these puppies. Nothing wrong with that if you look at it. But if we dig deeper we may not know that first we have hundreds even thousands of animals in animal shelters and pound looking for a home. When they stayed too long they may be put to sleep. They may be neglected, abused animals from prior owners or plainly abandoned beautiful creatures.
We need to see that these are the kinds we need to ADOPT into a good home you are willing to give. There are a lot of them who needs us. We should discourage breeding for the sake of getting profit from these creatures.
First, these puppies/kittens are torn from their parents and are being deprived of being cared for by their mother. Just imagine that being done to human moms, there will be an outrage if that happens.
Second, these puppies/kittens and are not being treated properly as they should be. They looked sad, malnourished and timid. generally puppies/kittens are full of energy, playing and running all around.
Third we add population t unwanted pets, we give them as gifts when they are cute and little but the moment they grow up or cause us any trouble especially financial due to medical needs as they grow old, sad but true they are left at pounds and animal shelter who do not have enough budget to give then the home they need and deserve.
It's quite saddening to know all other animal cruelty happening now, not even want to touch that issue because my heart might totally break.
Just a wake up call to all of us, please adopt and don't buy. And if possible rescue. I'm an animal parent as well, we rescue and adopt. We don't buy.
It will make a world of a difference to those poor and loving animals.
Ang cute.

well put, spot ON💖💖 Telling pictures, great composition , awsome post :D
Thank you for doing it & as you know , il second>> ADOPT 💖💖💖💖
Thank you for the support. 💖
Yup, one of my pet peeves is people adopting exotic pets with no clue as to the proper care for that animal. And sadly, that can apply to anything as domestic as a rabbit right up to a true exotic like a kinkajou.
I have worked at animal shelters before and would also only ever adopt now. A friend of mine came up with an even better plan actually: in her old age she plans to adopt old dogs that only have a few years left to give them a good home before they die. I love that idea! Definitely going to follow suit one day.
Thanks for the post :)
yes you are absolutely correct. I love that idea as well. I'm planning to volunteer in a local animal shelter and care for rescued dogs and cats. If only I can adopt all of them I would. Thanks to kind people like yourself. :)
you are absolutely right
thank you for the support.
Yes I totally agree! Dont buy just adopt!
Indeed. 💕
i agree @robiney we must love animals esp. our pet coz they can also loves us more than they loves themselves... thumbs up to this post!
I agree. A pet's love is unconditional. The only heartbreak they cause is when they pass away. 💖
