@polebird: 🌸 Awaiting spring’s arrival! Tulip picking season is coming soon 🌸

in #love7 years ago (edited)

Spring is just around the corner, and I am so looking forward to a change of season. In Dallas, the last week has been dreary and cold, and just makes me miss the sunshine even more! The first day of spring this year will be Tuesday, March 20th. It was a beautiful day in spring, when I visited the Texas Tulips, a tulip garden in Pilot Point. It was my first time to visit such a place where you can cut your own tulips! Pilot Point is only about 45 minutes away from Dallas, and the experience was well worth the trip for me.

We got baskets and were able to choose the tulips we wanted to take home. There were so many types of tulips to choose from, they have over 90 varieties of tulips planted in the field that bloom over the span of a month. The buds of tulips are short lived, so different plants flower at different times of the blooming season.

Springtime always brings me joy because another passion of mine that have not yet revealed to the Steemit community is - FLOWERS! I love flowers, gardening (although a lot of my stuff dies off), and sometimes try my hand at floral arranging. You will probably an increase in posts about the green-thumb (or lack thereof) in my upcoming posts since spring is almost here. :) In the spring you will find me digging in the dirt lol.

Thanks for reading! Any other Steemians who love flowers or gardening?

Wow, the tulips are wonderful, very nice fields. I have never tried to plant flowers too much, but I have some experience with vegetables and berry fruit. Here's our garden behind the house when it was in full power last summer. :)

And the fruit of our work (this was a harvest on one very plentiful day):

Lovely flowers. I can't wait to see you get in the dirt while working on some Nice Flowers. What's your favorite Flower?

hahaha awww yeah, I'm excited!!! :D That will actually be addressed on tomorrow's post :D

Ok, 😁. I can't wait to see that.

Happy to see you always be happy ❤❤❤❤

aww thank you, I am kind of a cheery person :P

Thank you for encouraging

Those tulips are gorgeous! I can't wait for spring either. Winter has really beat me down this year. I'm soooo ready for warmth and sunshine.

Yeah!! Today is another cold day, they said it’s supposed to warm up later but it’s still cold as of now. Sunshine we are all ready!

After rose I like red and purple tulips! Also excited for spring too!

Aww yay! I also enjoy roses :)

The tulips look so beautiful, I love their colors - Actually got myself some tulips from my trip to Amsterdam and I cannot wait to plant them in my garden :)

oh YAY! :) it will be quite the treat when they start blooming!

Look so warm amd colorful~ Should be the same here in Korea, but it’s still very cold!

yess! I can't wait for all the beautiful weather that the next few months will bring! Yes i saw all the snow in korea :P on the olympics

This is beautiful.
Oh man I'm looking forward to the warmer days.
I love spring and summer.
You can do so many things outside, which you normally would do inside.
Nice post Jess :)

thank you! :) Yeah, I definitely spend all the time I can outdoors during nice weather <3

Those are very pretty tulips :)

thanks! so many colors :)

very nice flowers :D! I also can't wait for spring to hit Calgary.... although spring is quite late :(

oh really when does it hit!? it is cold there a lot of the year right?

yeah, usually since late september or early october, till april or so, after that temperature starts to be nice

Awesome place, excellent photo op!

Beautiful flowers abound! Won't find any of those around here this time of year. Pennsylvania dry and dead. Brown and bleak.

I like winter, but am getting pretty pumped for spring as well!

heheh yeah we don't have the tulips yet either, but I checked the site, should be coming soon maybe even by month's end :)

Wow, how beautiful are they! Tulips are always one of my favourites behind Lillies, I seriously can't wait for spring! Its freezing here in the UK!!

ah lilies are beautiful as well :) how cold is it there right now!?

It's about 1-2 degrees c at the moment, last week it hit 7c which was pretty awesome!

I live a only few minutes away from Texas Tulips, yet I have only driven by. How funny you beat me there! From the looks of it you chose the perfect day to go.

Spring is so close it's not even funny any more, the mixed up warm/cold days are here. @jschindler and I are planning our planting too. He transplanted a pineapple yesterday to a container :]

oh hehehe :) some tulips were on the way out that year, but we ended up seeing the last rounds of the blooms. Hope you get to go this year! I knowww I'm getting excited about re-viving my small garden!
