Have you ever touched someone's heart?

This is one of my childhood memory that I wish to share today.

This incident has registered very strongly on my mind, I don't think I will ever forget it cause this person has left a deep impression on me. Even though I was so young but it feels like it happened yesterday...

This was when I was around 8 years old and in class 3. Since my family conditions were not very good and pleasant I was sent to an orphanage along with my elder sister. It was a tough time, there was nothing like Love in those premises, everything was very basic, I dont even remember as a child if I ever played with any toys also. By the age of 9 we had started washing our own clothes and utensils. Those were not the days of washing machine so everything had to be done by self. It was tough, it was like I was just growing up with the passing time.

At that age health wise I was very weak, most of the time I was sick down with fever. Then there were times when I used to not tell anyone if I was down with fever and in that place it was like no one bothered also...

In all this growing up I came across a lot of people some of them nice and showed lot of sympathy but never love and some harsh ones also.

It was one of those days at school when I was down with high fever, so in the break time I put my head down and went to sleep. Suddenly I felt a gentle hand over my head and as I looked up, was my class teacher, her name was Yasmin. She asked me what was the matter and I told her I was unwell and started crying.

She hold me and gave me a warm hug which till date I cannot forget because that was the most I wanted that time, and as I write this also I have tears in my eyes remembering that whole incident and her face flashing in front of me. After that she got me a warm cup of milk and made me drink and gave me a medicine. That day I felt like my own mother was taking care of me. She showered so much of Love and showed so much compassion towards me in that half an hour break that till date its been more than 35 years but I cannot forget her.

She touched my heart and soul in every possible way. Sometimes even the world richest thing cant bring you happiness that just a warm hug and a compassionate gesture can give you.

As I grew up I had a lot of affection build up for her, but after I left my school I have never been able to meet her.

I learned a lot from this small incident, she left a deep impact on me. I used to always think that when I grow up I want to be like her. I don't know how much I have succeeded but I try to do my best. I get very sensitive when it cones to children, cause whatever hapoens to them in childhood goes with them in their heart and mind all through out their lives.

I do not like to talk about my childhood much as it brings a lot of pain, but some instances I do share, because what I am now people think that I have had a merry life and I would have no understanding of what hardship is all about. But I want to give a message that everyone has their share its just when we dont know, so take each of those tough days as a learning and progress in life just not materially but at soul level also.

This only proves how a small random act of kindness can make so much difference. I wish my teacher Yasmin is in Good health and high spirits always. God bless this beautiful soul.

From now on irrespective of the topic of my post all my post will always have this reminder

Have you done your random act of kindness today?

With Love and Angels Blessings 💖💖👼🏻👼🏻

Thank you Noam

That is really beautiful, you are touching hearts by sharing that story Naina. I am so aware that even a smile can make the world of difference to someone having a bad time. You are carried a little bit of that compassion inside you ever since, I'm sure.

A lot of people have amazing stories from there past. Sometimes we forget, because we are familiar with our story, that they can add massive value to others. I always appreciate when someone says, "I've been there and you will be just fine."

That's so true, I believe everyone has a past to talk about, its good to share it as a part of learning with a larger audience. Because most of the time people say "Why Me", but the fact is that it's not only you, everyone is fighting their own battle.

My father always says "help your neighbor, do not expect something in return. Good things always come from nothing and happen to good people." People like that, are unforgettable.
@nainaztengra

I agree with what your father say, even the Bible make it clear,Take heed that ye,do not your arms before men, to be seen of them, so what ever you good you do, don't expect anything in return

Thank you @hopehuggs for sharing the feelings with me, Yes I do feel very compassionate when it comes to children but at the same time sometimes I completely switch off which is one area of improvement for me.

A heart touching story! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Chetan :-)

With a few tweaks, the post will get at least a million shares on a blog like lifehack. Thanks for this amazing write-up, Nainaz!

Then it is with all of us in a way...

Last night I was thinking if I had been successful in one of my innumerable suicide attempts between 1997-2000, I would be old enough now in my new life to repeat the cycle. Something or the other would happen and I would still be alive after a fresh attempt to kill myself.

Had a hearty laugh yesterday! Someone told me during those days, " One day you will laugh." At that time, I thought he is the biggest liar on earth. Ironically, I don't know either whether he is dead or alive - last met him in 2002.

That being said, we often stumble upon relationships and life partners who have been through similar experiences.

Thanks again for giving us a small glimpse of the path you traveled!

Jai ho!!

Thank you for sharing your story @superstar2018. I can understand that when life gets too tough you just want to quit, but that's where we all need to build that understanding and come to a level of maturity that everything happens for a reason. Now when you look back you laugh and understand that was such a insane thing you thought about but yes when you are going through it they seem to be your worst nightmares. Life keeps on asking for too much patience at every step. God bless the person who came into your life at the right moment with the right advice :-)

@nainaztengra: "Bade bade deshon mein aisi chhoti chhoti baatein hoti rehti hain" ;)

This is touching, I know life at orphange ain't fun. it must be sad in there not to have a fun childhood. Mrs Yasmin is such a kind soul and God will reward her for her kindness. You are a very grateful person to still remember her and know she impacted greatly in your life. Most people tend to forget who helped them but you ain't most people. As you remembered Mrs Yasmin for her good deeds God will also remember you and bless you.

Those are some beautiful blessings @tutufaith, and I am grateful to you for that. Yes people like my teacher are very rare and we such people should always be given respect, no amount of respect is enough for them. As far as childhood is concerned I guess it was a part of my learning, so better move on with it :-)

God bless yasmin wherever she is!
Very touching story dear
I'm a children's teacher in my church and i come across different kids with different issues, some of them just need a little attention and others just want to get away from troubles of home even if its just for the few hours they spend with us.
I do my best as a teacher to help them feel safe and loved and seeing this post, i know for sure that my efforts are not in vain
Thanks for sharing! @nainaztengra

I always have a lot of respect for the teachers, it's the most noble and selfless profession. Teachers set the base for children, they show them the path and the whole meaning of life to the children. In the few hours spent they can make a world of a difference.
But it's also sad that every teacher does not understand this, while I have a very pleasant memory of my teacher but my son does not. When he was very young in his nursery class, he was a very quiet child, and his teacher used to keep nagging him, every second day I was called in the school for a complaint, he was pushed to the last bench and she used to terrorize him, within a month I had to remove him from the school as my son had just started speaking and with this behavior from his teacher he completely stopped speaking.
I am so glad that you are a good soul and taking care of your children so well :-)

Wow thank you I am a teacher, and my heart melt when I read this kind of message from yours @nainaztengra .. Your story is really a touching story.. Though we are struggling sonetimes but we need to be strong to be a successful individual and thats what makes as a human ..

You are so right, even with all the struggles we go through we need to stay strong if we want to be successful.
My due respects to you and your noble profession @micch

That's come what maybe God is good :) He always guide us everything through thick and thin ..even when we are in the lowest point of our lives :)

Thank you so much @nainaztengra

Teaching children can be difficult...It requires a lot of patience and understanding and also genuine interest. You can't have a bad day and take it out on kids. They are just kids, what do they know. I love children and I love spending time with them. Even the very stubborn ones. When you get to know them of course by interaction you discover that they are just as pure and innocent as every other kid.
I'm glad your son grew with his mother and I'm glad you were quick to notice the effect school was having on him.
Thumbs up!

Hi @nainaztengra
I am sorry for the tough time you had to face in such a n innocent age, when we don't know what is wright and what is wrong for us.
But I believe that god is always with us,the teacher you met might be the face of the God,who came to support you and look after you at your hard time.
But that love ur wright, you will never ever forget in your life.
Oh God! Please always be there for ur Children.
Regards @crafter

So very true @crafter, she truly was a face of God. Thank you for your kind and loving words.
All that happened must be for my good, else I would not have been the person what I am today, so in a way I am grateful to the universe. :-)

It should have been really tough, people like your teacher are the remembrance of good intentions of others. I try not to forget those people and to help others, if I can.

We should never forget people who cross our path and make a difference to us, else it would be the most ungrateful thing in this universe. Such good people are rare to find.

the story touches the deepest corners of the heart as well as that woman you described..
kindness is a rare characteristic of a person nowadays, and when somebody shows it it seems like a real miracle. Strange and horrorful times.
Our memory has really a great function to save such tender moments for years...

and by the way, your style and manner of writing is very great! I was reading in one breath though I am not an English-speaker. Thank you!

Yes I always say Miracles happen, at times when you lose hope completely that is the perfect moment of getting a helping hand. Thank you very much @taliakerch for your interest and kindness :-)

exactly) doors are opened when we are about to go away..

Upvoted my friend, didnt knew you have a past like that as a kid but its a blessing that you can share it right now and youre a successful author now in steemit. :)
#thealliance

True, the very fact I am able to share it means that I have been able to overcome the obstacles and move ahead in my life successfully. As far as being successful on steemit, I guess I still have a long way to go :-)

It's a luck but it´s important to meet person like this in your life!
Wish you all the best!

It's luck or blessings I don;t know, but I am glad I met someone so beautiful in my life.

Very moving, it's sad that you had such hard times when young, but at least something positive has come of it and you have turned your life around since.
c0ff33commentaimage.png
#thealliance

That's absolutely correct, i don't look behind what happened but I surely want to keep some of the lessons of my past going on through my life, also to keep reminding me where I come from and to stay humble.

What an awesome story about a teacher making such an impact. Teaching was my first career, and I hope that I made the difference in some child's life. Wouldn't it be nice if you came across her again some day? You couldthen tell her about the influence she had in your life!

The very fact that you have the thought makes all thr difference and I am sure with thoughts like these you already must have done good things in life

Thanks for those kind words.

I had tears form in my eyes when I read this. I understand completely when you said, " whatever happens to them in childhood goes with them in their heart and mind all throughout their lives." It's true, my childhood was full of hardship and I carry that with me today. But it made me who I am today and I don't know what I would be like today if i didn't have to endure pain. I wish to show compassion for all people. A random act of kindness a day would do well for me.

So many people are quick to blame their bad ways on a difficult childhood, but I know so many people like you and @nainaztengra who have risen above it and become better for it. Even painful experiences in adulthood make us who we are, and make us more understanding and compassionate beings.

My dear the only suggestion I have for you is keep the good memories fondly attached to you and the bad ones LET GO.
You are so right we are all what we are today because of our past experiences. However bad I may feel about my past but I feel very proud of what I am today and so do I see the same with you.

That is a very touching post and brought tears to my eyes. They say adversity makes a better person and after reading a few of your posts I can see that it is true.

Teachers like the one you had, Yasmin, are a rare find. A little attention to children who are facing issues makes a big difference to them. By remembering her and recounting your experience you have carried forward the spirit of Yasmin's actions.

I remember curating some of your posts earlier in my Max Curation Editions - you have a flair for writing good posts!

Children all they need is love and when you shower that to them its a big impact on their lives.
Thank yoy for appreciating my work, I dont know if I write good or not but I write what I feel.
Good luck and best wishes for you

This story has left a deep impact on me too. I still remember that days when you helped me to promote my blog. On that blog i got $1-2 and after that I never looked behind. Thanks for sharing this story with us.

Its not about me, it could have been anyone but the very fact you remember and acknowledge is one big thing and I appreciate that. May you see big time success on Steemit

Exactly. What ever hardship we experience in life is a training that prepared us for the better life we live today, almost every great man/woman you see today has a great past story that makes them what they are today. But the question is now that you have what have you to offer those currently passing through what you pass through. What have you done to change someone's life? You may not have much but with little you have you can do much change in another man's life

That's a great lesson you give to this community @xtel, its very important to give back to the society in whatever way you can, even if you can change a life of one for good, your whole living gets worthy.

@nainaztengra thanks for amazing post , mam i felt your vibes through the words. I had same experiance, this is so, Deep feeling when some one in our childhood taken care of us or spend a time with us, when we needed the most. We trust them a lot, by doing this unconditional love and care they mark their footprints on our hearts.

Thank you @atishdarpel for your kindness. Some people surely do leave some strong marks on our lives

Childhood is less fun but sure is a happy moment will come

True any happy moment is life is a blessing

God never takes anything from us, except to replace him with a better one. And God also never tests a servant if the person is not able to bear it. Every god giving a test of help will come. Whether it's from family, friends, close people or through the hands of others we do not know.

Those are some very wise words @jamalgayoni, everyone gets their share till the level of tolerance it's sometimes we humans that we give up so easily, and every test will also have a helping hand.

You have a very good message here my fellow steemer. More of the insight

In any case and situation stay a human. Human is sincere and sympathetic. This is what my mom is always saying to me!

So beautiful that she had that impact on you! Thanks for sharing and remembering

Sometimes there are some moments in our lives that are scarring around the whole life. Your story is like that kind of heart touching story . Equally a little sympathy, kindness, love play a helpful role during the weak times of the people . A small hugs seems to be very. Really, such a great story.

True, we need a little bit of every emotion for a perfect balance. And good and bad times are all a journey of life so one needs to keep moving

But your smiling face always keep the spirit high and you always present yourself with a positive note and that is really your strength.

Thank you for writing this article and Have a great day.

Thank you very much for your kind words @shivohum

what an amazing story, I really liked your story, you know how to write that you like how you feel it on yourself, I love your posts already, thank you very much.

Thank you :-)

Some incidents in our life are stored deep inside us, and these incidents define us for the rest of our life.

You have kindness and compassion stored in your deep memories and that's who you are, a very kind and compassionate woman.

Thank you very much for identifying me as a compassionate person @loftee, I hope I can live up to the expectations every day of my life and be of maximum help to the ones who need :-)

Welcome, and you do will live up to your expectations.

Hello @nainaztengra, i just found you on the post-promotion on qurator. Well.. you got me with your history. I mean everything we needs sometimes is just a hug, and yeah, there are some people who are really able to touch our heart, and make us feel what love really means..

Hope nowadays you are just okey, and things are better than used to be.
Have a good day lady, and all that good things! :))

Yes, I am doing very good. Thankfully I have a wonderful family, my husband and my son are two most amazing people, I could have not asked for anything more. Thank you for the concern that you show for me @selected

This is such an inspiring story, sometime a little hope and love is all we need to move on.

There's a lot of wisdom and inspiration contained within this story. I know a lot of people will relate to it. It also gives hope to people like teachers that often go unnoticed. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you very much @moeknows for being so compassionate and understanding
