It’s always a sad😔 thing when things don’t end up the way we want especially when we’ve put in so much work that we are certain of definite success, but the amazing thing about life is that when one door closes, another one opens up.
When we experience loss or rejection, opportunity is often lying in wait, patiently waiting for us to seek and fish it out.
Letting go and moving on isn’t easy, especially when the other person broke things off. Perhaps you wanted things to stay as they were, and as such your equilibrium was disturbed by their sudden departure.
However, it’s not just relationships that we have to move on from in life. Most times, we have to let go of friends who do not have any positive value on us, or sometimes we have to move away from our hometown in order to pursue a dream or to better our career.
Sometimes, we need to let go and move on from someone because our goals have changed.
There are a lot of reasons why it is necessary for you to let go and move on. Actually doing it isn’t so easy. Fear can hold you back, doubt, second thoughts as well as anxiety of what may happen next. The most important thing, is that you want to move on. Once you’re sure of what you want and what you need to let go and move on, it becomes easier.
Let’s look at a few tips for letting go and moving on------>
Picture the Benefits :
Have you pictured what your life would look like if only you could let go? For one thing, your burden would be done and you’d be free to start over anew. You’d experience a lightness and sootiness of being free. You’d be able to meet new people and push your life forward for the better. You’d be happier.
Picture the benefits of moving on and remind yourself constantly what you stand to lose if you continue to stay enclosed where you are, desperately hanging on and gasping for the breath of life.
Get Busy:
Instead of moping over what happened, take action. Don’t dwell in the past, look ahead. Get busy with that business idea you had. Begin work on that novel you always wanted. Build that shed in the garden you had planned to build. Expand your vision. No dream is too big to be accomplished as long as one has a willing heart.
Don’t let what happened paralyse you or weigh you down. Take your mind off things by being proactive.
Make Exciting Plans for the Future:
The best way to take the bull by the horn and move on from the past is to look at the future. Making exciting and fun filled plans would help you feel a lot better and you make you feel that you’ve got a second chance, and that happiness is still possible.
Without making realistic plans for the future, it really can feel as though you’re rooted in the present and make you feel as if you’re on the pathway to regrets. The future is one which can be bitter or sweet but which side you find yourself in, mainly depends on what you want and desire.
Make plans. Get excited by them. Give your life a new direction. Open a new chapter and close the last one. Life is all but a Game of Thrones.
Forget About What Can’t Be Changed:
Not everything can be changed, not every decisions can be retracted, and it’s important to remember that. Focus only on the things you can change, and stop trying to change everything else. We should lose the sight of the happiness that lies ahead.
If you’re deeply frustrated and upset that there is something you can’t change, learn to change the way you perceive it. Think about it differently.
It’s out of your hands, so while you can’t change it, you can at least change the way you perceive it. Change your perspective!
Forgive:
Lastly, learn to forgive.
Forgiving someone doesn’t mean they get to go off Scot-free, while you continue to hurt and carry the burden of what happened for the rest of your life. Forgiving means being kind to yourself and being kind to your heart. Until you forgive, you will forever be resentful, stuck and unable to move on with your life. There will always be setback. Forgiving is a vital part of personal growth and psychological development.

Beautiful words.
I've found that sometimes saying goodbye to friendships that no longer nourish you can be harder than ending relationships. Forgiving is truly important, if not just for the other person, then for yourself. 💕
Exactly! Some friendships are not so easy to abandon. Thank you for your kind words
