Do you think long distance relationships works?
Well.... I think the question should be are you ready to make it work?
So my roommate believes long distance relationship doesn’t work... she thinks it is just a waste of time.
Personally, i feel any relationship can work. The probability of a relationship working does not have to do with distance.
The distance doesn’t matter in love.
Love is not always rational. Never be afraid of how much you love or how quickly you fall.
Love fully, love completely, love naturally without you thinking if it is worth it.
Don’t ever be sorry for loving the way your heart knows.
All that matters in a relationship is love, commitment and your willingness to make it work against all odds.
It is funny when people say that being in a long distance relationship is crazy and even delusional.
When those that are not in a long distance relationship can’t even boast of a good relationship.
Fine, relationships are hard enough without dealing with time differences or not seeing your partner for a long time.
But then, nothing comes easy.
The best relationships have their own unique challenges . No relationship is easy but if you are willing to make it work it becomes easy with time.
When you are in love , the feeling is so rare and urgent that being without the person due to inconvenient circumstances seems insane.
No matter how hard the situation if you really love someone you will never let them go or give up on them
Any relationship can be broken whether short distance or long distance.
PS: I am not a relationship expert... lol. I am still learning at this things.
Great write up @ibukun but have got a question on this topic. Here comes my simple question. Is it possible to love someone you don't trust?
Marriage counsellors always talk about the building blocks in marriage relationship and one of it is trust, infact to me it looks like the most important of the blocks.
Therefore if this block is solidly laid, the issue of distance will not pose any threat to the relationship. Whether distance or close.
Definitely trust is very important in a relationship, when there are trust issues in a relationship, love dies. Trust is definitely the most important block in a relationship.
Thank you for reading 😊
I think there's more than to it than "TRUST". More of it is effort and sustained mutual level of interest.
In my opinion, the issue with long distance relationship is complicated. It's more than just trusting. There are things like nostaligia, lack of overt sexual expressions, physical presence and etc. that trust can not handle
things like these don't thrive on trust. they thrive on presence. and that's why long distance relationship as the write clearly stated has a unique challenge.
Long distance relationships work. But the amount of effort it takes to make them work requires probably more than the every day relationship requires.
Although it worked for me. I've read only 5% survive and I wanted to be that 5%.
In all fairness, that could also be a bad thing. As yo said "No matter how hard the situation if you really love someone you will never let them go or give up on them".
Making effort in a relationship cannot be overemphasized. You just have to want to make it work for it to work.
