*Comparison*

in #love7 years ago (edited)

Hello beautiful Steemians,
So this is quite a long read.. Forgive me.
Been thinking alot lately and to be sincere, one of the major relationship killer is mental comparison.

Comparison simply is the act of accessing the similarities and differences between two or more things(to compare X with Y). Having made the comparison of X with Y, one might have found it similar to Y or different from Y.

Statistics has shown that this is common among we ladies. No Offence.
Comparing your guy with other guys and wishing he could do some of the things other guys did for their girlfriends.
More often than not, this causes a lacuna in the relationship. And oh well, when ladies start keeping their distance for no reason, the guys don't even know how to make things right cause truth is, they don't know where they've gone wrong.

Yeah, I know it's really sweet when guys use their bae's pictures as wallpaper/screensaver, bae's name/nick as password, upload bae's pictures on every social media you can imagine. Takes her out on fancy dates, buy gifts and an endless list.

I personally have nothing against all this.
Matter of fact, love it when bae does.😊😀😃
But it shouldn't really be a measure of love.

Do not feel he loves you less 'cause he probably doesn't do any of those.
There's so much more to a relationship than social media display of affection. It's not a means of quantifying how much you mean.
Besides, because he can't right now doesn't necessarily mean he never will.

There's this story of a woman who constantly nagged her husband for not being romantic enough by getting down to open the car door for her as her friend's husband did each time he dropped her off at work.
What she didn't know was that her friends husbands car door was faulty and could only be opened from outside.

Life doesn't have a universal measuring tool.
Stop the mental comparison
