True Love or Euphoria? Lets talk about it......

Valentine's Day is on the horizon which means, breakups are on the horizon. Relationships are tested this time of year, decisions are made, and the term "I love you" gets questioned.

But why is that?

I ask this question because I've noticed that a lot of people are saying that they want a long-lasting, long-loving relationship, but yet, when the euphoric feelings and hype of being in love starts to die down, and reality kicks in, the relationship itself begins to DIE OUT. Looking at divorce rates and those breaking up around me everywhere, I ask "are relationships really THAT MUCH of a trial and error?" Or in this world of instant gratification, do we just not give enough time for true love to grow? OR, better yet, are we just too lazy to work towards that goal?

Many people make the mistake of getting into relationships or even getting married because of their state of euphoria and then thinking that this GREAT WORLD OF EMOTION is going to last forever......and its not. WHY? Because euphoria isn't the full definition of love, its only the first word within the definition. It doesn't react to reality, just emotion. Euphoria to love is like adrenaline to fear. And most people want to live in this emotion because this is where they experience the most happiness, which is understandable. True love, however, takes work, time, dedication, and sacrifice, which sounds a lot less appealing than puppy love. But it is the ultimate appreciation for a person, and the ultimate contentment. Now I know a lot of factors affect why people break up, but Im just speaking from the emotional standpoint based off of what I've seen lately.....

What are your thoughts?

I agree. Often people confuse euphoria with love. True love requires patience and mutual interest. A relationship that does not care when euphoria falls will not survive. But a lot of people do not understand it.
Very interesting post.

Nice article! Thank you! I think that people firstly should study to be happy and to study how to live life, become a professional and to creat a broad outlook and then try to make relations. Because relations is a work of both.
