RE: Wednesday Walk by the river

in #lookingup6 years ago

Back in November. My neighbor's son was here for Thanksgiving and she had many trees that needed to be protected. Her home is within feet of the edge of the river and most of the trees in her yard were vulnerable. While he was wrapping them he just went ahead and did a couple of mine that needed to be protected because she gets more benefit from them than I do. They are some distance from my house and yard.

oh well that worked out great then! How are you today, you've hit it hard today and gotten caught up?

I'm not caught up at all! I'll get back in the routine next week. Right now I'm sitting here huddled under a pile of blankets trying to stay warm! My furnace malfunctioned, some electrical smell that set off my smoke alarm and I had to turn it off. I didn't want to pay for an after-hours service call, so I have a fire in the gas fireplace and a little electric space heater running in my bathroom and a big pile of blankets! I do have an electric blanket that I can put on my bed for tonight. It's 36°outside, so it will probably be chilly in here by morning!

oh no! wow I'm so sorry to hear about this Melinda. Thank God you have the gas fireplace and electric heater and the electric blanket. And thank goodness it's only 36 degrees, which I know is dang cold if you don't have the furnace running but alot better than 10 or 0. So you will call the first thing in the morning?

I will call in the morning and hope they can come over promptly!
In the meantime I feel like it's rather an adventure!

haha! I like your attitude! in fact I love your attitude and I think if you tell them that you have no heat I think they'd come as soon as possible. You probably never use the electric blanket right? That thing is going to feel SO good! lol. My new computer came today and I turned it on, it's getting itself and all it's programs set up and ready.

That is really exciting! I can't wait to hear how much you love it!
I had to dig the electric blanket out of the back of the closet! It was a gift from my mother and has not had much use. The temp is down to 55. I'm thinking by morning it may be rather brisk in here! I don't want to leave the fireplace burning when I go to bed I will just have to get up early and get it going again.
