The bridge on the left was completed in 1963 and was in the process of being disassembled. It is the world's longest and widest floating bridge. The world's second longest, I-90's Lacey V. Murrow Floating Bridge -- connecting Mercer Island, WA, to Seattle -- is located about 3.5 miles south of this one.
