Many moons ago I visited this little store at the top of a big flight of stairs leading up from Whyte Avenue in Edmonton, Alberta. I loved it right away.
It had cool things my ignorant, super young self had never even heard or thought of! Everything that was reusable, recycled, upcycled, eco-friendly, healthy, sustainable, fair trade, etc, was all under one roof!
Since then the store has significantly grown and moved into a much larger building on the east side of Whyte. There, they have expanded to create a one stop shop for pretty much everything a human might need, including a large selection of grocery items.
The owner; a bicycle enthusiast and a friend to the activist community, has been involved in countless campaigns and initiatives over the years and continues to promote the idea of a safe, healthy and clean planet for us all to enjoy.
One of his most recent pushes has been for our city to ban plastic bags. I fully support this idea and I would love to see my city become a bit greener! #BanTheBag! ❤️

If you're in the Edmonton area it's worth the trip to check out this store, some products, such as this Lucky Iron Fish I bought the other day, you won't find anywhere else in the city!
Their selection of bulk items is not matched by any other store nearby. You can refill just about anything you need here just by bringing in your own container, or using one of the many they have on hand. From dish and laundry soap; to beans and nuts; to coffee and tea; you can avoid more plastic containers and bags by bringing your own and refilling!
Another great thing about this store is their zero waste policy. They go out of their way to make sure everything in the store finds a use rather than being thrown out. This sometimes results in free food or products for animals or humans, rather than chucking it as other stores do.
Anyway, I love this place, the owner and staff are fantastic people and I recommend checking it out if you're nearby :)
Take care!!

Always love the photography in your posts.
Thanks Babe!!!
I would love a store like that! That's great!
Hopefully stores like this catch on in a big way!! :]
I wished the one downtown was able to stick around longer. I had visited it a few times but it was tough to find a place to park.
Me too!! Too bad indeed. I took the train there once, it was a beautiful spot! The Whyte ave location is pretty close to us though so no need to go downtown..
Wow that place is dreamy! I love that they make sure nothing goes to waste:)
Yea they totally rock! So happy to have a store like that nearby :)
