As the years pass humans continue to think that our actions on this planet have no consequence and that everything that happens is a natural cycle that either with or without us these things would happen.
But if we continue to think that hunting, trade, overexploitation of territory among other things is not an alteration in the structure of the world. We will soon cease to exist.
The analysis recently published by Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences warns that we have entered a "sixth mass extinction", which is "more serious than is perceived" Research indicates that up to 50% of animals that once populated The Earth has disappeared, which is equivalent to billions of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians that have ceased to exist forever.
During the last 500 million years, five massive extinctions took place on our planet, during which a great number of species disappeared, the previous massive extinctions were due to natural climatic changes, volcanic eruptions or catastrophic meteorite falls. However, this sixth extinction is due to human activities such as deforestation, overpopulation, pollution, poaching and extreme weather events.
It is time to make changes, if we all contribute a granite maybe this is not irreversible but with each act and each action we will help the other species including ours.
