Excellent article! I think that you are right, the cryptocurrency universe is growing (over 800 coins and assets now) and there are lot's of opportunities for reward. While it may seem that Bitcoin has risen too far out of the average persons reach, I believe that the time to invest in Bitcoin is now, it will only rise from here as Cliff High's ALTA report states. However, one must be careful not to simply jump on the crypto bandwagon and as you say, you must do due diligence, as there are traps, pitfalls and scams in the cryptoverse.
