After Bitcoin activated BIP 91, it means that SegWit is next. If Bitcoin activates SegWit, then it is also likely to implement the Lightening Network. There are many people recommending Litecoin all over the internet, but my question is why? If Bitcoin implements SegWit and the Lightening network, would there even be a reason for Litecoin to exist? All Litecoin would have is four times the amount of currency supply then. Is the scarcity of Bitcoin more valuable?
I actually see the name recognition as what makes Bitcoin more valuable. I can buy items with Bitcoin. What can I buy with Litecoin? Until Litecoin distinguishes itself from Bitcoin, and creates a market where I can buy items, aren't I safer sticking with Bitcoin? Jim Rogers, the famous billionaire, always says when everyone is on one side of the boat, he gets on the other side. This would mean not getting into Litecoin. What do you think? Will we see a whale splash around August 1st, watching the big money get into Litecoin, or would standing on the sidelines waiting for the market make more sense?
