Remember a few months ago, I said that I would buy a bitcoin worth of various alt-coins as an experiment to run here? Well, I didn't buy a whole bitcoin's worth, but I did start buying a couple thousand worth of altcoins over the Thanksgiving holiday. I scaled into some of the top ten altcoins (namely Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ripple, Dash) just to test the waters and that portfolio has, obviously, gone up in value by about 30-40% (but who is counting)?
The biggest surprise mover, however, has been Litecoin.
Check out that MOON move! It's even turned up when priced in bitcoin.
You can credit Bitfury George.
And, of course, Charlie Lee's appearance on CNBC today. WATCH IT HERE.
If you follow him on twitter, he did give y'all a head's up. Follow him now and you'll know beforehand next time if you missed this leg up!
But - BE WARNED --
Personally, I'll HODL for now. But I've been around for years and have suffered the nauseous roller coaster ride of a few too many 70-90% corrections and so no longer panic so much. Before you dive into any crypto, please do your own research. There are multiple stories out there of fake Poloniex apps on Google Play and fake Ether wallets on Apple! Don't be scammed on your trip to the Moon!
Goddamit. I'm normally a simple hodler, but I thought I'd be clever and do some day-trading, sold all my litecoin (ok, not all that much but a lot to me) just before it mooned. Grrrrrr
i liked this post thanks for sharing litecoin
The sonner people get accustomed to cryptocurrencies and blockchains, the sooner the focus will shift from the price of the particular cryptocurrency to the actual benefits we get from them(LTC benefits>BTC benefits).
Long way to go 1000$ is coming by the end of 2018 !!!
traded steem dollars at $7.00 for litecoin at $100 last week, not regretting it one bit
Despite the level of respect I have for Charlie Lee, I really don't see LTC dropping below $100 anytime soon, if ever.
Ha. Never say 'never' in crypto-land.
I'm happy with the price rise of Litecoin! I didn't have as much as I would have liked, but I did buy a bit more just before the price spike today.
Happy trading!
Charlie Lee... he's a Heavyweight: @SatoshiLite
In a lot of crypto circles LTC is known as "Launder, Then Convert".
People have been using it to push through different transactions and to "wash" coins instead of using a tumbler.
Although LTC has Segregated Witness, it remains to be seen if they'll implement any of the further improvements that will be available on Bitcoin first.
Charlie's caution is warranted, as a lot of new people just buy the top choices on Coinbase, and don't look into what they're really putting money into.
great
