I previously posted that the MIT Litecoin announcement could be about Quantum Computing. You can find that post here:

There are some other projects related to blockchain that MIT has been working on that could be viable candidates for the announcement as well:

  1. The first is "Lit", a version of a Lightning Network that MIT has been working on. Lightning networks allow for instant payments, scalability, lower fees, and multi-blockchain transactions. Here is a link: https://github.com/mit-dci/lit

  2. The second is "Artistry." This is a system MIT is working on for paying artists by using a form of artist authentication. Find out more here: https://github.com/mit-dci/artistry

  3. The third is "Cryptokernel." This is a modular kernel for currency creation and design. Link here: https://github.com/mit-dci/CryptoKernel

  4. The fourth is "Rights Contract." This is a media rights management Dapp. Link here: https://github.com/mit-dci/RightsContract

Those are the ones that I know of at the moment, but I will keep searching. Any of these would be amazing enhancements to Litecoin, and could possibly be why we are seeing a surge in Litecoin prices to start off July. The announcement will be made Aug 1.
