The go-to make-up maestro for everyone from Em Rata and Olivia Munn, to Karlie Kloss and Allison Williams, if there's a pro make-up artist that knows what trends are going to be huge in 2018, it's Patrick Ta.
Pantone Eyeshadow
What's Hot: 'Right now, I think that Pantone colours are definitely in. Violets, pinks, purples, burgundies - there's loads of eyeshadow palettes with these colours.'
Make It Work: 'Some colours at first glance you'd be like "When would I wear that?", but paired universal colours like light pink or light coral on your lips and cheeks they look great. Shimmer is way more wearable than matte - when you put any sort of glow onto the skin it really revitalises it and keeps it looking fresh and young.'
Brands Upping Their Inclusivity Game
What's Hot: '2018 is all about empowerment and who you are as a person and what you believe in. Brands should be able to cater to every single woman's needs to make them feel the best they can.'
Make It Work: 'There are a couple of brands that have really paved the way for extended shade ranges of foundation but at the moment it's the smaller brands that are rocking the boat. Hopefully everyone can keep learning from each other so all women can feel included in the beauty conversation.
Paintbox Bright Lips
What's Hot: 'I love love love a pop lip. Lipstick can really elevate a look and it's super easy. Red, orange and fuchsia are all going to be massive this year.'
Make It Work: 'I always mix lip products. I love using liquid lipsticks because they have a really intense colour, but they can leave your lips dry and flaky, so I always put some lipstick straight from the bullet on top to add moisture and make them look more healthy and plump.'
Coloured Eyeliner

What's Hot: 'Coloured eyeliner is definitely a big trend that people are going to be doing a lot more for awards season.'
Make It Work: 'A good way to wear coloured eyeliner is to wear it with purpose. Take hints of colour from your outfit or your jewellery and tie that shade back into your eyeliner, rather just wearing a random pop of colour.
