Today I will continue to talk about the old PCs for my pet project. My aim is to refurbish old PCs, install Linux on them and then donate them to people in need.
Background
This is my friend's HP 2140 netbook, I am restoring the machine for him and will return it to him when completed. According to the internet, this model was on the market in 2009. It was originally pre-installed with WinXP with 32-bit CPU and only 1G memory.
Linux version
Peppermint 9
Restoration
Restoring this PC was quite straightforward as the hardware specification is very standard
Lessons Learnt
Learning to install a typical 32-bit Linux
Have you tried Void Linux. You can really configure a minimum system with it, may be ideal for your purposes.
Thanks for your suggestion. Will definitely check this out. :)
