TESTING THE PERFORMANCE OF LINUX MINT 19.1 ON MY LAPTOP TOSHIBA

in #linux5 years ago

Greetings to the community of Steemit. I hope you are well. This time I will talk to you about the performance of the Linux Mint 19.1 operating system with 32-bit Xfce desktop.

I tell you, I had to install Linux Mint 19.1 , when I had Version 19, and that this in turn came from the 18.3, and after having made an update of it through the terminal or console, depending on what you want to call it. What happened in his time is that, the root partition (/) which is where this hosted the operating system to be filled completely without any space, so that affected me at the time to be able to load or start any type of program, and, as in the case that attaining these came to be after a long time of waiting, so because of this take that decision.

It should be noted that this version of Linux Mint I installed is with the Cinnamon desktop , and since this desktop is a bit heavy for the features of my machine, which is a Toshiba Satellite laptop, a 1g Ram, 100g hard drive, and dual Core processor, I had to lean towards Xfce . And once this is done, I must say that the performance of the laptop is stable and with a boot to the S. O. very fast, so I recommend this desktop to those machines of a few features in terms of Hardware is concerned.

Once the new desktop was installed, there were only two things left to do because they do not come by inclusion in it, one is the Battery Monitor, which I needed to be aware of the amount of energy available when it is not directly dependent on the charging cable, and the other is the screensaver, to have moving images when it is not used when it is on; in which both I could get them on Google. The first one works normally, and the second one if I have problems, because at the time of loading the screen savers it only shows a black image and the mouse pointer, so I had to disable it until I got your solution.

If any of you have any idea how this problem can be corrected, let me know by writing it in the comment box, I would greatly appreciate it.

Just saying goodbye for the moment. A fraternal embrace to all and all.
