Jesus taught:
"I was a stranger, and ye took me in."
—Matthew 25:35
We find it easy to serve and show kindness to people we already know and love. But we don’t fully follow the Savior’s example until we extend that same kindness to people we don’t know.

WAYS YOU CAN HELP A STRANGER

The site https://www.mormon.org/christmas/25-ways-25-days/day-11 suggests the following good actions:
Which one of your coworkers do you know the least?
Invite the person to lunch to get to know him or her better.

Has a stranger ever done something nice for you?
Determine a way to pay the kind act forward.

This is a beautiful day, to share my testimony.

From childhood my mother taught me through example, about kindness with neighbor, "you do good and do not look at who ".

My father died when i was only seven years old. My mother was a very young woman, and her hands had to learn to do many things and work long hours to support your three children. She had very little to offer and has always been willing to give all the people who asked for her help. Many people came to our house that she hosted and provided food without asking for anything in return. In fact almost always there was someone who came to live in our house for a while.

That is why i am not surprised by the action i took one day about a stranger; everyone in the workplace criticized me For this.

In my country Colombia there has been an armed conflict for more than 100 years, the "guerrillas" are armed groups outside the law, they have caused much pain and innocent bloodshed in our country. From kidnapping people, recruitment in their ranks of children, dispossession of property, massacres, displacements.

A few years ago, there was a protest in the main square located in front of the bank where i worked. There were hundreds of peasants settled there, allegedly making protest to pressure the government for improvements in their living conditions. They had been there for days, in the open, sleeping on the ground, under the sun and rain. It was known that this was not a voluntary choice of the peasants.

They were forced by the guerrillas to leave the camp to the city to protest. It was also known that if they did not agree, their life would be in danger and they would lose their properties. There was also the rumor that there were guerrillas in the square watching the peasants and promoting disorder. So it was not known who was who, if someone was a peasant victim or a guerrilla.

I remember that the bank reinforced security due to the proximity of the place of the protest It was only a few steps away.

I was attending several clients at the same time both by phone and in person, when i had a moment of respite i noticed a woman with pale and somewhat decomposed skin who was sitting in one of the chairs in the waiting room. I looked at her, she looked at me shyly. I asked her if I could help her with something. She came to my desk and told me that she was coming from around a town called San Vicente, which had been forced to go out to this protest, that she felt very sick and needed an inn while looking for a safe place. I asked her if someone could give a reference of her, then i would make a call to confirm. She told me no, that she lived in retirement from the village. I offered her something to drink, while i thought what to do. My heart wanted to help her, but i felt some concern, since there was a possibility that she was a guerrilla. At the time i occupied again, i told her to wait for me there, while i was free again, she stayed there sitting almost all afternoon. It was time to go home, i did not know what to do! I could not leave this woman alone, nor did i know of a place where i could direct her to spend the night.

So i begged God, i asked him to guide me. So was, i said to her: let's go home.
My co-worker who was nearby, made gestures that I did not do this.

I arrived with her at my home, offered her a headache pill, food, then she took a bath and went to sleep in a room that i would accommodate for her.

The next day she told me that she felt better health, and that she had decided to go find a family member in another town.

I gave her some clothes of mine, and some money for his trip. I never saw her again.

I do not know how to describe this feeling, i cried, i thanked God, i was happy that i had not forsaken that woman and to be healthy and safe.

Our God does not forsake his sons.

Let's make this world a best place to live, that our heart does not become insensitive. Give your hand to whoever needs it, even if it is a stranger. Everyone looks the right way to do it, just do not close, find the way.
