How Filipinos face flood in the Philippines - Baha ka lang, Pinoy kami!

in #lifestyle7 years ago

Philippines is known for being one of the happiest country in the world and also one of top 10 happiest country in the Asia. But just like every human being in the world, Filipinos face problems too. Like tragedy, typhoon, storm surges, earthquake, calamities, and even crisis. Guess what, despite of all the things above, Filipinos still know how to really enjoy the so called, “At the moment”. Most of the pictures were grabbed on facebook and sent by my friends on their location years ago.

Hello everyone, I'm here to tell you facts and reality on how, we filipinos, faces the flood here with a caption “Baha ka lang, Pinoy kami”.

Filipinos are born naturally happy, so maybe it's one of the key why we are one of the happiest people. Despite of being one of the poor country, we tend to smile. Despite of being the country who are loved my calamities and nature's activities, we tend to smile at all cost.

If the African people have the “Hakuna Matata”, we Filipino people have “Okay lang yan” which really means, just go with the flow. I lived in a place where most of the time it is flooded. If you can remember Ondoy? The flood in out place is about 1 storey, 2 steps to go and it will rich the 2nd storey of our house. But despite of what we are facing that time, we kept smiling and enjoying. I even swam the flood. It's kind a dirty and dangerous due to leptospirosis threat, I don't even bother. We enjoy the moment tho.

Philippines was hit by strong typhoon. If you are familiar with the Yolanda, a super typhoon that hits Leyte and causes around thousands of death, they're now a happy community now. They're moving on and keep on living the live the used to be. I mean, it's not easy to move on but nothing will change if you haven't moved on for a bit. Right?

We Filipinos are the one who are known for the “Till flood do us part” when a couple exchanges vows even tho it's raining hard and the road is flooded, the show must go on. How cool is that? And endless love. The picture was taken years ago tho and I just grabbed it on facebook and it keeps on inspiring me about “True Love”.

We the Filipinos too are known for being drunkard along the road. I mean, where can you find a country who is flooded yet can drink a bottle of beer along the road. Silly isn't it, but we have a saying here “Walang baha sa taong gustong magka tama.” And I have experienced it too.

If the flood in the Philippines was as clean as the pool in resorts, I will wish to have a flood always. I mean, we are a tropical country. We are so in need of a cold weather sometimes. There comes a time that due to excess hit, you will just sweat without doing something. Luckily, we are surrounded with waters so not a problem at all. We can win the swimming cup If we have a clean flood like this. Don't worry, I edited this one.

Kids are the most happiest Filipinos when there's a flood. Why? Due to suspension, they'll get a free swimming. I once like these kids and up to this moment, I even enjoy the flood. Why would I murmur around and complain if I can just enjoy the flood. Right?

We Filipinos are the most creative during flood. We even discover that you can surf at the flood. Now how cool is that?! Especially to those people who can't afford to go Baler to surf. Imagine this street children. Imagine their future in the world of surfing. Just a piece of wood and a powerful balancing skills then there you have it, a good to go surfing stuff!

Include this puppy who can't swim and was given a floating support to float at the flood. How cute is that?!

The Filipinos are one of the best entertainer in the world. There's a lot of Filipinos worldwide who are performing in their industries but we Filipinos are also known for the “Bekis”, it's the word best to describe gays in the Philippines. They even have their own language, thanks to “Bekimon” tho.

Presenting “Suffer Sireyna”, it's suffer because of the face but don't worry, there's no disrespect or discrimination here, that's the way of life in the Philippines, the “Okrayan”, or teasing one another, we have a saying “Bawal ang pikon, ang pikon ay talo!”. Most of the gays in our country especially the “Bekis”, dreamed of being a mermaid or the so called “Sirena”, we even have a music here about them. That when you are ask and partially drowned in a big pail, “What are you?” in that my friend will determine your gender. And when you say “Sirena po ako”, you are 100% gay.

Floods is a natural occurrence in this world we are living in, if we don't just enjoy it, it will kill us emotionally and physically. We need to go with flow when there's a flood that has been brought by heavy rains. Always remember that there's always a rainbow after the rain and flood will always go away at the end of the day.

So if you want to visit the Philippines during rainy season, don't forget to enjoy the flood with us. Believe me, we are enjoying this more than anybody else's. Why? Because this is the way we live most of the time, flooded.
