Why bother trying to make your life better?? Why bother setting goals?

in #life7 years ago

Sometimes you might feel like there's no point in trying to make my life better I feel fine now, or I just don't have time, or I don't feel like doing it now. So it just feels too hard and you just want to get back to your video game or continue to eat that sugar because it's just way easier and I feel "happy" doing it.

First of all always looking for the easy way for happiness does not work out for anybody. Short-term pleasures like video games, eating candy, fapping to porn, etc they are all just short term pleasures. Ussually one doesn't really feel happy after participating in the acitivty they just feel pleasure. Or they feel what I call 'Outer Happiness' Yes pleasure feels good but only for that time does it feel good. Also short-term pleasures in moderation are totally fine, but when people do it all the time it hurts them, and many don't really feel happy.
(Side Note, watching porn is just something that does not help at all except makes your life 100x worse I'll explain that in a different post, but just for me I decided to quit that forever and not even watch it in moderation. Just a personal choice)

Anyways there is no pleasure without pain no happiness without sadness. That's just life. Short-Term pleasures only give you pleasure for a tiny bit of time, while long-term pleasures will give you pleasure throught your life.

So there's that but also there's a choice everybody needs to make, it can go either way at different parts of their lives. Which is this:
Do you seek after many short-term pleasures and out happiness, and all you do is try and find the easiest way to feel tons of pleasure?
Or Do you seek after long-term pleasures, and inner happiness, which you work hard in the begining and reap many rewards in the end, and throught life?

Totally your choice. Each path is hard, the first path's meaning is to just get as much pleasureable experenices in a quick amount of time and feeling outter happiness, which will just feel hallow.
Second path is to work super hard for long term pleasures and inner happiness, its a hard path but you feel fulfiled and with meaning, having a drive to shape the world.

I think it's good to mostly choose the second path but walking on some of the first path is healthy as well. There's no way someone can just be like BOOM I QUIT SUGAR, PORN, VIDEO GAMES, SHOPPING, ETC NOW I'M GONNA WORK SUPER HARD AND DECIDED I'M DICPLINED!
That's not how it works. Having good outer happiness is good; it feels good. And it totally fine in moderation!

Working towards long term goals and pleasures, and having some short term pleasures is a perfect mix. Yes it should lean to the long term pleasures more but it's okay to have short term pleasures! :)

Again why bother trying to make your life better? Well it's totally your choice, but trying to do something to make your life better, and instead of blamming it on everything else, can give you drive! It can keep you grounded, and fullfiled.

Your choice...

You get 1 life, ONE life on Earth, and then your dead. If you believe in Heaven and stuff like that you can, but still everybody can hopefully agree that you only get this one life! So let me ask you something....

Why waste your 1 life? Before you die are you gonna be grateful for all the times you fapped to porn, or all that time you wasted watching movies? No. You will be proud of the relationships you had, and the proggress you made, how hard your worked, how much your learned. This will what really matter in the end.

Lot's of times we do mess up even if we are trying, that's okay! Just go at it again! Never give up.

That's all that I have please upvote this post, follow and resteem! :D Thank You!img_0064.jpg
