But to say everything happens for a reason is a different argument. That would suggest everything is predetermined which destroys your old actions argument. It's an interesting topic that can drive you in circles.

Its true though that if we say everything happens for a reason it sounds as though everything is predetermined (religiously). Scientifically then?
