Great post, @thecryptofiend. I would also add one thing. The problem I see so often is that we approach the ones with different values in a wrong way. No doubt that woman and men are equal, but some people still argue about that. And what modern libertarians like to do is just call those people bigots and make fun of them. That only increases the hatred and widen the gap between people.
We don't have to think the same and we all can express our thoughts. However, when disagreeing with someone who is wrong by default, we still have to have empathy and imagine being on the same boat with him. Only that kind of discussion can be meaningful, but I really miss it nowadays.
