The music was cheerful and sounded inviting
I wandered over to board the ride
I found a nice horse and climbed aboard
No one is leading so we go round and round
Each person thinking they are leading or following.
One kid is crying, another is yelling WEEEE.
The Carousel music deafens the individual voices so it all just sounds like noise.
Every so often the music stops and and we unload a group of passengers to bring on another group.
The music starts back up and we begin again
People take pictures and wave from the sidelines
Soon the view gets old, I've been on the ride too long.
I feel a little dizzy and over stimulated
The music sounds less fun and begins to attack my senses
The sound of laughing and crying blend together, it just sounds like noise.
There is no getting out of the circle.
I can't find a beginning, there is no leader no path, just a circle.
I feel a little panicy
The ride slows, I get off the horse and look to see if there is a better ride.
In the background I hear the new passengers board and the music fades from my ears as I walk away
But the ride goes on.
@whatsup,
I feel rhyme! Shall we make a music? Seems you got a nice talent with you!
Cheers~
LOL - your other commenters seem to be thinking circus, while I'm thinking analogy for life...
when I first thought of it, it was a Steem analogy, but I went with life
I knew you intended it as a Steem analogy.
I considered it as a metaphor for the whole of life, and teared up when I read the line:
"Every so often the music stops and and we unload a group of passengers."
But then I read the line "I get off the horse and look to see if there is a better ride," and breathed a sigh of relief. If it's a metaphor for life, at least it's not one that encompasses death, just the circles on which we spin our wheels, from one to the next.
Of course, Steem doesn't have to be like a carousel. It can be like the sea. We can take a bracing dip in the water, then when tired out, we can leave the waves and rest, someplace quiet. And we can come back and swim another day, whenever we feel like it. :)
Exactly, I moved away from the steem metaphor and moved on to life. I'm not ready to get off, but many do. And the chain keeps moving on.
You take me back to when I saw Fleetwood Mac live, and they performed Stevie Nicks' song, "The Chain:"
"And if you don't love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You would never break the chain
Chains keep us together, running through the shadows."
The two things that get me about that song are:-
(1) the crraaazzzy guitar riff. It gives life to hear it!;
(2) The last line, that implies that despite the roughest chain breaks, there is still something about our connection to our chains (for Stevie Nicks, it was her continued friendship with her ex), that keeps them alive for us and in us.
I don't think we will ever be completely disconnected from the Steem chain, in our hearts, at the very least. :)
I still see some of that steem analogy in there too but I like it better as an analogy for life because it if it was about this site, "[i]n the background I hear the new passengers board and the music fades from my ears as I walk away" would sound like leaving lol.
Well done.
You are a skilled writer.
I really felt like I was there. I'm going to have another contest soon. It seems that we need to do something to break up the monotony at any rate.
I liked it.
Thank you, since your last contest got me more interested in doing more creative writing instead of commentary. So, thank you for that.
Also Yes... We need fun and less monotony... I'll be straight, I'm even bored of myself! :)
I've followed you long enough to make an educated guess; but this has flavorings of steemit, but I guess in the end, all of life. Around and round we go; sometimes I see it all as a hamster on a wheel, bit I like yours better :)
Your words resemble, the carrucel of life. I'm surprised to find in this ocean so big, people who take examples of writing with common ideas and think that life is like a carrucel, full of twists and turns, for that reason the importance of doing things well, because at some point of our lives, we go back to the same place. I liked reading these lines of the Carrucel. I leave u a big hug @whatsup.
Good energy.
It’s funny, the symbolism didn’t even occur to me. I was too caught up in the scene itself because it brought back memories of riding the carousel when I was very young. The too loud music, the over stimulating lights, and the disorientating dizziness were a little frightening. Maybe it has a lot in common with life but I’m not ready to get off just yet
Me either! I'm not getting off.
very nice! i love carousels and great photos too!
the ride goes on ...
Round and round and round
@whatsup ahahaha you crack me uppp love my WU xo
Kinda like life really. You steal the experiences and moments of fun along the ride, and try and get off the ride when it is time to escape.
One of the things I love most is watching my kids smile and laugh and scream and....be kids. I need a new ride now!
I want a new ride also, in so many ways. lol..
Life itself is a ride. The ride can mean our moments, and we all have them in the spotlight. Whether we maximize them or not, Eventually they fade and another person comes to ride.
It was beautifully written by the way
It is a ride and sometimes a great one, sometimes a little dull. :)
Wow......really very beautiful photo 📷 my dear friend whatsup.love you
Good writing and beautiful picture.
