When we look at the the symbol for Yin and Yang, we see the balance and interplay of opposing energies. Yang is the masculine, outward moving, venturing and the vocalizing. Yin is the feminine, inward flowing, nurturing and the yielding. Today we are concerned with Yin.
Change is constant. But great change is seasonal. Everything has it’s time and place in the grand scheme. However for the individual, opportunities for great change requires subtle awareness or else the opportunity is missed. Modern life, inundated with the Yang principle, often obscures our ability to look within and assess the ills of the self.
Today, maybe instead of the regular debaucherous Friday night, it could serve you to do the spiritual work needed for long term success. Hone your creativity. Cook instead of eating out. Read instead of watching TV. A glass of wine could replace the 12 shots of Patron...
At the age 37, I’ve seen it all for the most part. Going out has lost it’s allure. So today, instead of sparring I might focus more shadow boxing. Instead of 4-5 rounds on the heavy bag, I might do 2-3 and spend more time on the double end. I usually bike to the gym, but today I might just take the bus and read on the way. Hone your skills, refine yourself, and make the most of the internal change of seasons.
