In the Fight for these 2 Little Angels to continue Smiling! (English Version)

in #life6 years ago

Hi steemianos!

In this opportunity I come to tell you a story that is happening to a close relative of mine at this time ... In which each Venezuelan as inside and outside of this beautiful country is in the struggle to have a better future.

My Godfather is the father of 2 beautiful little ones who always give a smile to life ...

I present them to you:

Samuel (7 years old), the same face of my godfather.

And

Miranda (3 years old), the small and beautiful girl from Ecuador!

They are currently living in Ecuador. Since they lived here in Venezuela; they were always with diets and treatments because they suffered from "Asthma", "Bronchitis", etc. While there, they undergo sweat tests to diagnose whether or not CF (Cystic Fibrosis) exists. The results of this test gave the following:

The result of a sweat chloride test can be as follows:

Less than or equal to 29 mmol / L probably means that there is no presence of cystic fibrosis.
Between 30 to 59 mmol / L does not provide a clear diagnosis and additional tests are needed.
If it is 60 mmol / L or greater, cystic fibrosis is present.
As you can see in Samuel it is certain that CF is present and in Miranda the result is doubtful although it is confirmed by doctors for other symptoms that accompany this disease as it would be: the lack of growth, does not easily gain weight, cough, etc.

Before going on I explain that it is Cystic Fibrosis (CF): It is a genetic disease that fatally lodges in the lungs, pancreas, liver and intestines. The disease has no cure but in developed countries it has been possible to give patients a longer life, so much so that they have reached 40 years.

Unfortunately in the country where they are currently (Ecuador) there is not enough machinery and specialist to be able to help extend their life time. We are currently in the struggle to gather and perform a genetic test to determine the mutation type, which costs around USD 5,000 per patient because the exams must be sent to Europe for analysis. This test allows you to determine among more than 1,500 mutations which is exactly what affects each of them and define the treatment that can help them to have a better quality of life in the long term. The INTERLAB CLINIC LABORATORY in Guayaquil, on June 20, 2018, agreed to carry out a 35% discount for both exams, each one remaining at USD 3,810.00, for a total of USD 7,620.00 which is the goal to meet fundraising. The budgets issued by INTERLAB are shown:

We are trying to gather all the exams as soon as possible in order to continue helping these children ... if you want to know more about this story of Samuel and Miranda, and help us by spreading it, donating or simply giving us tips you can know how to treat the disease .
