I have heard a lot of people say money is evil. They even substantiate their statement by misquoting the bible.
It is written:
1 Timothy 6:9
But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.
verse 10
For the Love of money is the root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
The love of money, not money itself, is the root of all these evils of verse 9-10
8 Dangers of coveting riches, causes
Many temptations of the devil
Many snares of the devil
Many foolish lusts
Many hurtful lusts
Destruction and perdition
The root of evil to grow
One to err from the faith
Many sorrows
Riches in Scripture are considered the cause of much sin and rebellion against God and for this cause there many warnings to men, specially converted men, to shun all covetousness of such.

I would say "Greed of money is the root of evil"
Well said!.... it's sad how many people misquote the Bible. It's always better to read the whole chapter, then you get it in context.
will go with verse 10 , the love of money is the root of all evil , money is good as long as it remains your slave , our desire for greed leads us to the pit where we will do anything to get money and once we get to that place it starts to control us
