Yes that's right! We're counting down the top 5 candies you probably didn't know were vegan. Let us know if you agree or tell us what you think should be on our list in the comments!
5- Hot Tamales
We're kicking things off with my personal favorite, Hot Tamales! A while ago Hot Tamales used to be made with gelatin, however, recently they have changed their recipe and removed gelatin to the delight of vegans everywhere! Be sure to check your package before purchasing as there may be some of the old recipe still out on the market.
4- Smarties
Usually the first to go when someone brings a bag of candy to work, Smarties contain contain no animal products, making them a tasty and cruelty-free choice for anyone looking for a delicious vegan candy.
3- Swedish Fish
Swedish Fish are not fish, but they are from Sweden! This soft chewy candy comes in traditional red and assorted colors, and the best news is, they are all vegan!
2- Jolly Ranchers
Pretty much pure sugar with some flavoring added, Jolly Ranchers are always a great vegan treat! The original flavors come in cherry, blue raspberry, grape, green apple and watermelon. What's your favorite flavor?
1- Skittles
Now you may be thinking "Wait a minute! Skittles aren't vegan, the contain gelatin!" This used to be true, however, sometime in 2010 Wrigley stopped making Skittles with gelatin. So that officially makes them vegan and shoots them right to #1 on our vegan candies list!
