5 Top Foods We Should Not Eat on an Empty Stomach

Early breakfast tells how productive we will be in the end of the day. It may not always be right to eat everything we want to eat. It is important for us to know the right foods to intake on an empty stomach. Waking up late make us choose the foods that are easy to prepare not knowing their effects on our body. These are 5 foods we might not know that aren’t good to intake on an empty stomach.

  1. Citrus Fruits (orange, lemon/lime, grapefruits and etc.)
    Eating Citrus Fruits may give us more Vitamin C that is needed to our body; it does really make us healthier if they are eaten at the right time of the day. Eating Citrus Fruits may increase the acid production on our body that may cause Acidity or Stone. Moreover, too much fiber and fructose in fruits can also slow down your digestive system if eaten on an empty stomach. It is better to it nuts than Citrus Fruits.

  2. Coffee
    Drinking coffee to start the day is one of our common practices. Most people say it makes our body warmed up to kick our works to finish as early as we wake up. Drinking coffee on an empty stomach may lead to acidity. It stimulates the secretion of hydrochloric acid in the digestive system which causes gastritis in some people. Some experts say the more creamer the more it is acceptable to drink in the early morning, but it may still have some bad effects.

  1. Raw Vegetable (cucumber and any other green vegetables)
    Eating vegetable salad/raw vegetables are common for those who are in diet. But it is better to know the right time of the day we should eat these particular foods. They are full of coarse fiber which may put an extra load on an empty stomach. They can also cause abdominal pain, heartburn and flatulence when eaten first after waking up.

  1. Bananas
    Many people may always have bananas in their kitchen. We actually love bananas we even feed our children with banana because it has a lot of potassium and magnesium to complete our bodies’ mineral content. But eating bananas with an empty stomach may increase the amount of magnesium in the blood which damages our hearts. It is more advisable to eat honey than banana in the early morning.

  2. Spicy Foods
    Many places around the world love to eat spicy foods not knowing how harmful it is when eaten on an empty stomach. It disturbs the natural acids present on the stomach, and may cause acidic reaction in the stomach’s lining. It also causes damage and irritation to gastric mocusa that may lead to digestive system disorders.
