Because of good people and goodwill I am not homeless. I haven't been robbed of everything I own by Evil, Inc. Nothing else protected me. Not hoards of cash, not the law, cops, or the courts, not my own competence, only good people with goodwill has kept me warm, dry, and fed. I even hope I have made a little girl very happy with a new bike for Christmas (minus the seat)! I have so much to be thankful for this Christmas! I hope you all do too.
Dear @valued-customer !
Merry christmas!
I attended the Christmas service at church yesterday.
I'm surprised you had trouble! I thought your problem was solved with some kind help from a neighbor! That is good!
I assumed you bought the girl next door a bike!
I want to travel to America next year! I hope that with God’s help I can meet you!
"I attended the Christmas service at church yesterday."
I am happy you have that fellowship you cherish to spend time with on Christmas. I hope your Christmas was joyful in good company.
"I thought your problem was solved with some kind help from a neighbor! That is good!"
The corporation evicted me, and trespassed me from the property so I couldn't retreive my property. Then my neighbors did all of that work I was legally prevented, and Olivia was chief among them. She and the other good people rescued everything they could, and I only lost a few $T's of property to the thieving scoundrels, whom had sought to take everything from me. You well understand overlords oppressing common people, but the courage and integrity of my neighbors caused their high regard for me to spur them to defy their landlord and prevent the theft of my property to the best of their ability. They didn't just do a lot of hard, dirty work for me. They adamantly refused any payment, and defied their overlord that wanted my property with admirable courage.
I have never felt more loved in my entire life.
I am still concerned they will face retribution for their selfless acts. I am trying to secure a site where I can provide spaces for their homes so they don't have to live with the threat of illegal eviction and the theft of their stuff.
"I assumed you bought the girl next door a bike!"
Yes. Although I could not myself deliver it because I am still trespassed (and probably will be forever) and Olivia only learned the seat was not in the box the bike came in on Christmas Eve when she undertook to assemble it, she was able to use the seat from her own bicycle to enable her daughter to ride her new bike.
"...I can meet you!"
That would be amazing. I really hope you can arrange it. I often note you marvel at the expanse of country here, and I would love to show it to you during my hikes foraging for berries, mushrooms, or seeking game during hunting season, depending on when you visit. These are probably far more pleasant and fun things to do than laboring for my neighbors, or bloviating endlessly here, which is about the extent of my recreational opportunities. God willing, I will look forward to our happy meeting.
Because of good people and goodwill I am not homeless.
This is a wonderful thing to see. If more people had this level of humility the world would be a better place.
I really wanted to expand on this topic with my personal experiences but it is Christmas and not about me.
Merry Christmas. This was a wonderful post and it makes me super emotional just reading it. It makes me reflect on what I am thankful for so this post really hit the spot.
Goodwill, good cheer, good people and such are all what Christmas is about for me. I remembered being a kid and how happy I was when I got something special, like a rifle, or a boat, so when my good friend offered I could get her kid a bike, my decision was made.
I very nearly was overcome with emotion when Olivia told me the bike came without a seat. I imagined the little girl so happy about the bike, suddenly realizing she couldn't ride it, couldn't even sit on it, and I started finding ways to get someone at Walmart to get a new seat to her without delay - and I couldn't get through to anyone at all! It was enormously frustrating. But then Olivia said she could put the seat of her bike on it, and the problem was (at least temporarily) solved.
That was a great relief. I am nearly as happy this made you realize how much you have to be grateful for. I don't know if you're aware, but gratitude has special effects on our health. It reduces cortisol, which reduces inflammation, and that is one of the best things we can do for our health. Gratitude is good for our health in a lot of ways, especially mentally, but then it also impacts our relationships beneficially too. So I am happy to have sparked such a good thing for you.
I am having a very merry Christmas with so much happiness and gratitude surrounding me. Thank you very much!
Edit: This rolled around in the back of my head.
"I really wanted to expand on this topic with my personal experiences..."
Man, this is social media. You enjoyed my post because it was personal. Please share your personal stories here. That's why I'm here, not to post old songs from the 40s. I'm here because I want to learn from people. From you personally. That's not getting in the way of Christmas, it's what Christmas is all about.
Loving how you made that little girl's holiday extra special with the new bike🚲🎁Merry Christmas🎄 may your days be filled with light, love, and lots of festive cheer🥰
Good on you for getting the bike . I’m sure her mother is still feeing the strain after lugging that plant pot out of your gaff . 😀😀. Happy Christmas mate.
There were three raspberry pots about 2 1/2 feet deep and just as wide, that weigh more than ten stone full of wet dirt. Olivia moved them by hand, where I almost needed a forklift to move them. She is an amazing woman. Imma not arm wrestle her.
I am quite stoked because I got the kid a bike, and she's really happy. I made a nice $20 chunk of beef with the last chanterelles of the season, a salad of tomato, cucumber, olives, and onion with feta sprinkled on it, and some boiled veg with sour cream and fed my roommate and I well enough. It is such good fortune to share good food in good company during good times, especially on my favorite holiday.
That sounds absolutely lovely, what a nice way to celebrate and have made a kid happy. Thank you for the wishes, mine was calm and nice, lots of food. Wishing you a lovely new year too! :)
Yep! Her mom sent pics of her riding it (I tried to figure out how to send them over USB to the computer, so I could post them, but the only way seemed to be to create a Goolag account so I could do it with a specific picture app, and I'm just not going to create a Goolag account. What I'm going to do is buy a Linux phone (I have no affiliation with Jolla, and there is no referral or benefits to me from that link)), and it's just the right size for her at 8, and the seat can be raised as she grows, so it'll last her a few years (I hope!). The seat may not match the rest of the bike, but she doesn't care because now she can ride properly, and by gum I'll get a seat for the bike, even if I have to buy one again.
I hope your holidays bless you beyond your understanding, leaving you in wonder and awe at your good fortune. I think you're good people.
I tried to get the pic off the phone Olivia sent of her kid riding the bike, but there's a conspiracy to force me to use Goolag apps to do everything on the phone, instead of providing buttons to enable the native ability of the OS to upload the pics to my computer.
I'm not creating a Goolag account. I'm getting a Linux phone.

The wheel turns and we never know when we will fall out of favor.
Wonderful about the bicycle...dreadfully disappointing about the seat! Still, the child has a bicycle :)🎄
