I just read @Raymondspeaks post and it made me think of 'wheres mike'. It was a search someone was making on twitter I think and I think the name was Mike but no matter it's the story that counts rather than names.
The person doing the search was a young man who had left his home intending to go to the River Thames to kill himself and as he was looking into the river from one of the London bridges a stranger noticed him, felt something was wrong and cared enough to break his journey into work to talk to him long enough to give him reason to go back home without jumping. Once he had grown strong enough the 'Wheresemike' search was for the stranger who had been saved to find the stranger who had saved him. It took time and a few people came forward who were not the ones who had approached him but that shows even more people care enough to stop. One day Mike's girl friend saw the post and the two strangers met again and I think they still meet.
