If everyone would speak as frankly as you do, there's not much we couldn't come to understand.
Reminds me of a couple of things:
In a scene from Crocodile Dundee, the lady who came to interview him asked how they handled personal problems in such a small town. Dundee answered that someone would just tell the bartender and she'd tell the whole town, no more problem.
It's almost in the sci-fi realm that to this day, men and women don't understand each other. It's because they don't talk to each other frankly, they talk at each other. Neither side really acknowledging the other's nature nor respecting it.
